Assistant Director Accounts Job Vacancy - TJRC (Salary KShs 150,000 p.m.)

Background Information
The Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission is established under section 3(1) of the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Act No 6 of 2008 with the objective of promoting peace, justice, national unity, healing, reconciliation and dignity among the people of Kenya.

The Commission invites applications from qualified Kenyans to fill the following position:

Assistant Director Accounts

Reporting to the Director, Finance and Administration and responsible for all finance and account services at the Commission.

Specific duties and responsibilities will entail:

  • Preparation of budget
  • Interpretation of financial policies,
  • Budgetary controls and making financial returns;
  • Monitoring financial expenditure trends
  • Projections for the monthly and quarterly reports and ensuring cash flow are not disrupted;
  • Control and coordination of both routine and none routine accounts;
  • Accurate preparation of financial statements and overall expenditure of the organization;
  • Safe custody of the Commission’s assets and records under him/her and providing guidance to officers under him/her.
Requirements for appointment
  • Have a Bachelors degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option) and a Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination;
  • Have worked for at least eight (8) years in accounts profession in a large organization in Public or Private Sector, three (3) of which should be in the middle management;
  • Have attended relevant finance management course from a recognized institution;
  • Have shown demonstrable professional competence in finance and accounts work;
  • Be fully conversant with accounts based computer applications.
  • Knowledge and practical use of Navision accounting will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of GOK financial management systems will also be an advantage.Important information for all candidates

Duration of appointment: 12 Months or to the termination of the Commission’s statutory mandate whichever is earlier Salary Kshs 150,000 per month

Security & Safety Manager

We are seeking to strengthen our Finance Advisory services by recruiting highly motivated and qualified professionals to fill the positions of Senior Manager / Manager.

As a seasoned Finance Advisory manager / senior manager, you will support clients in Finance Strategy, Operations and Enterprise Performance Management to help build world class finance
functions or address finance transaction needs.

The job holder will lead and manage consulting assignments in strategy, operational effectiveness, financial reviews, strategic cost management, cost analysis, business process reviews, business planning, finance transformation, CFO strategy and feasibility studies.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Undertaking business development through active identification of leads, conversion of leads to expressions of interests, proposals and engagements

The role requires you to have 5 years experience in consulting or in Finance and Accounting back-office operations, e.g. Accounts Payable, Order Management, Accounts Receivables, Collections, General Ledger, Asset Management, Financial Reporting, Management Reporting, Budgeting and Forecasting and a minimum of 2 years of managing financial process projects.

At least 1 year in management role on an implementation of finance operations will be preferred.

You will need to have a first degree in a relevant field and professional qualification (CPA/CFA/CA/MBA/CMA).
