Business Development Manager, Printing Supervisors and Graphic Designers Jobs in Uganda

The desired candidates should possess the following attributes:
 
Position: Business Development Manager (1)
 
Report to: General Manager/Board
 
Location: Head Office, Kampala
 
Purpose of the position: To backstop the Group in the area of capturing new business opportunities covering present Group activities and any new emerging opportunities as may be guided by the Group Board.
 
Major Responsibilities
  • To develop and implement a comprehensive Strategy for Business Development for all Group business activities in line with line Business Heads with the approval of Group Board.
  • Follow-up on all Business Development missions/activities developed and advised by the Board from concept development/approval to full implementation
  • Coordinate all necessary approval processes/procedures incidental and or related to realising optimal performance of present and future Group business.
  • Supervise and manage any and all line subordinate staff
  • Maintain a smooth communication flow of information in and outside the Group through verbal communication, periodical narrative report writing, presentations development and updates related to the function as may be required from time to time.
Knowledge, skills and other requirements
  • Must possess a University degree in any Business Administration related discipline.
  • Must have good knowledge in computer applications like MS Office.
  • Must have at least 5 years demonstrated hands on business development experience in a busy private sector entity.
  • Must be aged at least 28 years.
  • Ugandan nationals preferred. 
Position: Printing Supervisor (5)
 
Report to: Production Manager
 
Location: Njeru Township, near Jinja, Buikwe District.
 
Purpose of the position: To provide printing supervisory role to Production process and maintain optimal productivity in line with the Production guidelines issued from time to time.
 
Major Responsibilities
  • To develop and implement Production Plans in line with the guidance availed by the Production Manager.
  • Maintain a quality control, house- keeping and preventive maintenance alert system in line with Group Production guidelines
  • Avail training and mentorship support services to subordinate and joining staff from hiring stage through to final settlement into the Group by such Staff
  • Carry out any other delegated duties as may be prescribed by the Production Manager.
Knowledge, skills and other requirements:
  • Must possess at least a Diploma in Printing Technology/Production Engineering from a recognised institution.
  • Must have at least 2-3 years printing experience in a busy paper printing operation.
  • Should have demonstrated people management skills
  • Must be utmost 35 years of age.
Position: Graphic Designer (2)
 
Report to: General Manager
 
Location: Njeru Township, near Jinja, Buikwe District.
 
Purpose of the position: To develop designs, artworks and related services in consultation with the Sales and Marketing Team.
 
Major Responsibilities
  • To feed into both production and sales by supporting creation of designs and artworks necessary for both activities.
  • To develop art and design concepts in line with the brand coverage of the Group with the view to containing competition against the Group brands.
  • Carryout any other delegated duties as may be prescribed by the General Manager.
Knowledge, skills and other requirements:
  • Must possess at least a Diploma in Industrial Fine Art
  • Must have at least 5 years working experience as a Graphic Designer in a busy printing organization
  • Should be conversant with computer based graphic designing meant for industrial scale production.
  • Must be utmost 30 years of age.

Job Description

Reporting to the Publisher/Director, the Chief Editor will be in charge of:
  • The day-to-day running of both print and online editions.
  • Generating thematic story ideas for the magazine in consultation with the Business Development Manager and the Editorial Director.
  • Conducting interviews with relevant sources and filing analytical pieces for both print and online editions.
  • Overall supervision and mentoring of Staff Writers.
  • Assigning staff writers to cover various ICT-related events.
  • Ensuring that Staff Writers follow up on developing stories.
  • Liaison with correspondents and columnists from across the region.
  • Editing all articles from staff writers, columnists and correspondents.
