Our client based in Nanyuki is looking for a Deputy Manager to ensure smooth and efficient running and management of its new facility. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for welcoming and handling of all visitors needs catered by the departmental units, whilst propagating the mission and objectives of the company with informative knowledge of the activities available.

Key Requirements
  • Create a menu achieving a 65-70% gross profit.
  • Control of costs to include food purchasing costs and monitoring of stocks.
  • Ensure high standard of hygiene amongst staff and premises.
  • Create proper food rotation of stocks as well as the best, most economical use of all perishables.
  • Assist the purchasing department to set up and manage appropriate purchasing systems.

Executive Chef (150,000 per month)

An International Hotel Chain in Westlands is seeking a creative Executive Chef

He/ she will be responsible for leading the kitchen department, delivering the company standards, quality dishes to the guest satisfaction, while controlling food cost through minimizing expenses and wastage.

The successful candidate MUST have a minimum of 4 years experience as a head chef in a restaurant/hotel. International experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities;
  • Interacting with the hotel guests promoting the facilities and services it has to offer and getting feedback.
  • Create menus to the specifications of the management and by the concept of each outlet.
  • Change the menu periodically to keep it fresh and interesting by feedback from the guests and the F&B management.
  • Participate in department and general meetings, delivering issues and receiving information.

Qualifications
  • At least 4 years’ experience as a head chef, hotel chef experience recommended.
  • A diploma from a known institute specializing in culinary arts, Utalli or hotel level recommended.
  • Positive attitude, energetic and hardworking.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good people management skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Positive attitude towards challenges.
Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 100,000 - 150,000/= (Approx. 1,000 - 1,500 USD) depending on experience

Job Purpose: Reporting to the Head of Fresh, the Head Cook will perform skilled cooking duties and coordinate service to ensure high quality standards of food production and service to support the retail store’s revenue growth. 

Expertise in either of the following cuisines preferred; Swahili dishes, Chinese, Fast foods and other delicacies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine how food should be presented and create decorative food displays
  • Determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services
  • Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies and institute budgetary controls
  • Inspect supplies, equipment and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards
  • Instruct cooks in the preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
  • Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations

  • Proven record of delivering outstanding customer service by preparing food items constantly and adhering to recipe standards
