Google is serious about Africa and our strategy is simple: get users online by developing a relevant, accessible, vibrant and self-sufficient Internet ecosystem. We have a variety of outreach programs that aim to strengthen the developer community so they can deliver more useful Internet products for Africans. We are pioneering new ways of launching and promoting Google products in Africa, from Flashmobs toGoogle Doodle competitions and online marketing. Our team is creative and has a passion for thinking big to get more users and localized content online.

East Africa (Kenya/Uganda)
The East African Community brings together over 200 million citizens from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan and Ethiopia closer together. We currently have 2 thriving Google offices in this region: Nairobi, Kenya and Kampala, Uganda. We work on a variety of projects and like to focus on developing local flavor to some of the world’s most popular and useful web services such as Google Search, Gmail, YouTube and Android.
Francophone Africa (Senegal)
Google’s main office in the Francophone region is located in Dakar, Senegal. We are working hard to launch innovative Google products in this region such as Google Baraza in French,Google Maps Senegal and web search in Wolof – the most widely spoken language in Senegal. We have big plans to further develop meaningful and relevant partnerships with key players in the IT sector.
Nigeria
Google Nigeria’s primary goal is to make the Internet an integral part of everyday life for people in the region. We are currently focused on establishing partnerships around three key areas including: lowering Internet access barriers, fostering relevant online content and supporting a sustainable Internet ecosystem of products and product developers in Nigeria. Some of our feature products and programs in Nigeria include: Google SMS Chat, Google Enterprise Apps, Google Baraza, and the Google University Access Program.
South Africa
Google South Africa is a fun and collaborative office based in Johannesburg with a truly South African feel. We’re helping to get South Africa’s large and small businesses online and bring all sorts of exciting products to ZA, whether it’s Street View or Voice Search in Zulu. We’re also the communications and policy lead-hub for all of Africa, as well as being on the forefront of mobile marketing activities in Africa.

West/Central Africa (Ghana)
In the West/Central Africa region, our main office is located in Accra, Ghana. Some of the office’s notable achievements include the successful launch of Google Baraza, Google Trader and Ghana’s Google Campus Ambassador Program. Each day presents new and interesting challenges which the team meets with vigour and creativity.
