Position Title: Security Manager - Kenya

Function / Department: Kenya Administration

Reports To: MD Kenya
 
Direct Reports / Supervises: Security Manager – Mombasa, Subcontracted Security and Factory guards
 
Job Purpose: To prevent theft and damage to Company property and ensure protection of staff and visitors

Key Responsibilities
  • Prevent theft and damage to Company property
  • Investigate any alleged or detected theft / fraud, prepare a Management report and give recommendations in a timely manner.
  • Ensure regular rotation of sub-contracted security guards.
  • Ensure all reported incidents are logged on  the occurrence book and reported to the relevant person and proper action taken
  • Liaise with the local police on any alleged intrusion into the premises or company/client cargo and follow up the case to conclusion
  • Ensure all security procedures are followed by all employees and clients within the premises
  • Ensure all access points and control rooms are properly manned
  • Ensure all security gadgets/tools/equipment are in good working condition e.g. fence, alarms, CCTV
  • Maintain records of all main door keys and ensure  safe custody of the same.
  • Ensure all items leaving the premises are accompanied by the relevant authorization documents and gate pass.

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Fraud Detection, the successful candidate will be responsible for detecting fraud and other unethical conduct in the business; to mitigate financial/ reputational loss to the company, its customers and business partners and limit fraud opportunities and their impact to the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct fraud reviews and forensic audits across the business;
  • Analyse and close alarms/ alerts generated through automated systems and detection tools;
  • Provide regular reports on assignments carried out, alarms analysed, actions taken and value adding recommendations made;
  • Support specific initiatives or fraud management projects aimed at reducing fraud;
  • Coordinate with stake holders to evaluate the current systems & applied processes in order to identify any potential fraud risk, to re-engineer certain controls in order to reduce fraud risks;
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Business related discipline;
  • Certified Public Accountant is an added advantage;
  • At least 3 years proven experience in forensic audits, investigations or external/ internal audit with reputable firm.
  • Knowledge of transaction fraud detection practices is an asset.
  • Reasonable knowledge of telecommunication operations;
  • Resilient and have the ability to represent and maintain a principled position in a sensitive situation.
  • Ability to work under tight timelines and deliver accurate results.
  • Uphold 100 % accuracy, integrity, professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
  • Conceptual thinker, ability to wade through data and arrive at conclusions

Counter Fraud Specialist: Reporting to the Head of Counter Fraud based in Plan International HQs in Woking, UK; the role is part of the Counter Fraud Unit and will support the Head of Counter Fraud in establishing frameworks to reduce the risk of loss of funds and resources from fraud, corruption, mismanagement and criminal activity.
In doing so reputational risk will be reduced so sponsors and donors regard Plan as a well managed, ethical and accountable organization.
The role will support the counter fraud framework through promoting best practice, provide investigatory services to Plan globally and provide support to the counter framework through systems improvement analysis. 
Although based in the Plan RESA Regional Office the role is global in nature and the post holder can expect to be deployed on assignments to any of the countries in which Plan operates.
 
This position will be an open ended contract under the Kenyan Labour laws on Grade E of Plan’s pay policy.
