The Head of campus will be reporting to the Director
and oversees the pursuit of excellence in all of the campus academic and
administrative activities.
i) Organizing,
coordinating and facilitating academic training sessions

Reviewing,
appraising and updating of the curriculum taught at the Institute
iv)
Recommending on
the reading materials to be acquired and stocked at the Library

DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
i)
Overseeing
the formulation and implementation of academic policies, procedures, rules and
regulations.
ii)
Interpretation
and implementation of the campus academic policies as formulated by the Board
and as required by KMA/IMO
iii)
Overseeing
academic planning, programs and support services.
iv)
Coordinating
academic research activities at the campus
v)
Spearheading
the development of curricula and curricula materials at the campus
vi)
Supervision
of support staff at the campus
QUALIFICATIONS:
Appointment
to the position will be made from persons who:
i) Hold
a Masters Degree in social sciences or its equivalent from a recognized
university.
ii) Hold
a Post Graduate qualification in Administration or its equivalent from a
recognized university.
iii) Have
satisfactorily served as a Dean of faculty or comparable position in the
Institute or in a comparable position with similar responsibilities in like
institutions for a minimum period of five (5) years.
iv) Demonstrate
high degree of professional competence and managerial capability.
v)
Are self-motivated and team player.
vi)
Have excellent computer skills.
vii) Possess
high analytical and initiative abilities.
viii) Have
ability to enable and inspire team effort achieve long term development.

Reporting to the Head of
Campus . Shall be responsible for organizing, coordinating and facilitating

Lecturer in the Institute or in a comparable position with similar

Reporting to the H.O.D
Marine Engineering. Shall be responsible for planning, developing and
evaluating relevant usable teaching materials. Planning, designing and
evaluating curricula in the specific area of specialization.
DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
i)
Teaching using various methodologies such
as group discussions and demonstrations in the area of specialization.
ii)
Planning, developing and evaluating
relevant and usable teaching materials.
iii)
Identifying the problems which impede the
organization development and conducting research with a view to coming up with
feasible solutions via training.
iv)
Planning, designing and evaluating
curricula in the specific area of specialization.
v)
Guiding and counseling students in
matters related to their academic and social welfare
QUALIFICATIONS:
Appointment
to the position will be made from persons who:
i)
Must be accredited by KMA
ii)
Must be a holder of certificate of
completion of instructors training course (IMO model course 6.09) or equivalent
teacher education on teaching methodologies, test and measurement
iii)
Must be a holder of certificate of
proficiency in PSCRB

Must be a holder of a certificate of
proficiency in Advanced fire fighting
v)
A certified fire fighter with not less
than one (1) year experience obtained at a recognized organization
vi)
Must be a holder of certificate of

IT TECHNICIAN REF: HRR/ADM 054
Reporting to the Systems
Administrator. Shall be responsible for general maintenance at the IT Equipment
and support to users at the campus.
DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
i)
Provision of technical support and
guidance for all data systems and infrastructure.
ii)
Analysis, design, coding, testing and
implementation of computer programmes for user support.
iii)
Maintenance of ICT equipment and related
peripherals.
iv)
Receiving, installing and certifying ICT
equipment.
v)
Ensuring that the network is operational
and appropriate back-up rules are implemented
vi)
Carrying out preventive maintenance on
the ICT systems.
vii)
Responding to and troubleshooting
emergencies including server and system outages.
viii)
Designing and integration of appropriate
ICT systems and ensure compatibility of existing systems and network
infrastructure.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Appointment

i)
A Diploma in Computer Science/Information
Technology or its equivalent from a recognized institution.

Satisfactorily served for at least three
(3) years in the grade of ICT Assistant in the Institute or a comparable
position in a similar institution.

Reporting to the Registrar. Shall be responsible for the maintenance of
all student academic records including, Implementation of registration policies
and procedures and Ensuring compliance with academic, regulatory and
accreditation policies and requirements
DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i)
Implementation of registration policies
and procedures.
ii)
Ensuring compliance with academic,
regulatory and accreditation policies and requirements.
iii) Preparation
of all registration materials and forms for each registration period.
iv) Compiling
statistical data required for various class size, faculty load and enrollment
reports.
v) Maintaining
accurate records of all courses and curriculum requirements.
vi) Any
other lawful duty as may be assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS
i) Bachelor’s
degree from a recognized university.
ii) A
Post graduate Diploma in Records Management or its equivalent from a recognized
institution.
iii) At
least two years experience as admissions assistant from a similar Institution
iv)
Demonstrated
ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a professional
manner.
v)

level of personal organization.

RECEPTIONIST
REF: ADM/056
Reporting to the Head of
Campus. Shall be responsible for the front office and customer relations
activities including welcoming visitors and assisting them, while ensuring
prompt delivery of telephone services to the Institute.
DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
i) Welcoming
visitors and assisting them.
ii) Operating
the switchboard.
iii) Answering
calls and giving proper advice or connecting them accordingly.
iv) Taking
messages and directing them to respective officers.
v) Receiving
letters and forwarding them to the relevant offices.
vi) Tracking,
recording and reporting on telephone usage.
vii) Reporting
defective telephone lines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
i)
Kenya Certificate
of Secondary Education mean Grade C or its equivalent.
ii)
A Diploma in
Telephone Operations or front office and related subjects from a recognized
institution.
iii) Satisfactorily served as Receptionist II in the
Institute or a comparable position with similar responsibilities in like
organizations for a minimum period of three (3) years.

Reporting to the Head of Campus and the Procurement Officer. The Store
Man will be responsible for delivery of stock management services, Ensuring
appropriate safe
custody of stores, Issuing of
stores, determination of stock levels
of each supply and maintenance of stock statistics.
DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Delivery of stock management services including:
i)
Ensuring
appropriate safe custody of
stores.

iii)

of stock levels of each supply and maintenance of stock statistics.
iv) Monitoring
stock levels and re-ordering when stocks reach re-order levels.
v) Recommending
on disposal of unserviceable stores.

Minimum requirements
i) A
Diploma in Stores Management or Purchases and Supplies Management or its
equivalent from a recognized institution.
ii) A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education
with a minimum of mean grade C+ or its equivalent.
iii) Satisfactorily
served as a Stores Assistant in the Institute or a comparable position with
similar responsibilities in like organizations for a minimum period of three
(3) years.
iv) High

ACCOUNTANT REF: HRR/ADM 058
Reporting to the finance officer. The
accountant will be responsible for Preparing monthly performance
analysis. Preparation of annual budget for the campus. Carrying out variance
analysis. Proper management of receipts and payments. Maintenance of the fixed
assets register and depreciation schedules
DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i)
Posting of vouchers
for advances, salary and other deductions.
ii)
Preparation of
cash flows forecasts.
iii)
Preparation of
trial balances.
iv)
Accounting for
recoveries in respect of advances.
v)
Issuing cheques
for statutory and other deductions.
vi)
Proper
accounting of unpaid salaries and communication of the necessary information to
personnel section for follow-up action.
vii) Monthly reconciliation of salary, clearances and
other suspense accounts
viii)
Ensuring
appropriate safe custody of
stores.
Minimum requirements
i) Bachelor
of Commerce degree or its equivalent from a recognized university.
ii) CPA
(K) or it's equivalent
iii) Satisfactorily
served in the position of Accountant II in the Institute or a comparable
position with similar responsibilities in like organizations for a minimum
period of three (3) years.
iv) Strong
analytical skills and attention to details.
