Court Clerk

Our Client, based in Nairobi and Embu Counties is seeking to recruit an experienced Court Clerk.

Reports to: Advocate

Role Objective: The Court Clerk performs clerical duties under the direction of the Advocate and ensures that all information with regard to client information and court cases are up to date at all times.

Responsibilities
  • A proactive individual with the ability to draft correspondence for the Advocate under supervision.
  • File Court pleadings in the Court Registry
  • Update all the relevant calendars and diaries of the Advocate with current and correct client information giving details of court cases to be called. 
  • Record court proceedings and defendants’ pleas accurately and give feedback to the Advocate.
  • Record case dispositions, arrangements made for payment of court fees and court orders
  • Represent the company in court and write notes on cases of interest to the organization.
  • Open new client files
  • Work closely and efficiently with team members’ to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the Advocate

Qualifications
  • KCSE Certificate
  • A Diploma in Law from a Recognized Institution
  • Certificate of good conduct
  • At least 2 years of experience in the same capacity with a good track record

Production Shift Manager

Position: Production Shift Manager

Purpose of the Position:
 The aim of this job is to deliver finished products on time and in full consistent with intended Productivity, Quality, Delivery, Safety, Morale expectation.

Functional Responsibilities
  • Focusing on factory Operational efficiencies, OEE including measuring all processes and process inputs and outputs.
  • Full use of the Production module in the ERP and generating required reports.
  • Writing up all Production work instructions SOPs and document all non-conformities.
  • Training all l shop floor associates on Good manufacturing practices, SOPs and other systems.
  • Accountable for efficiency, quality, safety and engagement of the team
  • Liaising with relevant departments to look into Participate in all problem solving sessions where machines are involved.
  • Learn the job, influence logistics, maintenance, to prioritize and design work for the team.
  • Report any product non-conformities as a result of machine failure to the section supervisor, and isolate any affected product to prevent unintended use.
  • Systems audits.
  • Coordinating with different departments in the company and working closely with other managers and supervisors to implement the company's policies and goals.
  • Review report on manufacturing activities, performance, and results and initiating corrective action.
  • Analyzing production data, timely writing and reviewing of production reports
  • Initiate programs/processes that will lead to improved product quality, less waste and overall efficiency.
  • Proper supervision of staff, delegation of responsibilities and appropriate authority to operators and junior staff to achieve maximum efficiency through proper use of skills, man-hours, machines and equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO: 22000:2005 standards and ensure the hygiene standards are maintained.
  • To chair quality circles and to assist in planning and to make recommendations on matters related to manufacturing and maintenance operations
  • Continuously review and re-align production operations to the overall corporate objectives

  • Monitoring the entire process guided by the laid down standard operating procedures for process control, spices & herbs and /or Snacks.
  • Actively participating in any research on new product
  • Development and improvement of the existing ones.
Required Qualifications
  • BSC in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Food Science
  • At least three years working experience in a FMCG industry.
  • Knowledge of KAIZEN, TPM, ISO 22000, FSSC.
  • Knowledge of snack and spice production

Company Description: nonprofit organization that runs innovative learning programs for young people in Kenya and Sierra Leone between the age 13-18.

Role Description: Reporting to the company's Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Programs will spearhead the implementation and development of flagship programs. 

This position will provide a range of experiences in program development with a high degree of influence and autonomy in a rapidly growing nonprofit organization as it launches the pilot InLab. 

Responsibilities:
  • Cultivate strong programmatic relationships with local partners (e.g. Ministry of Education, Corporates, Non Profit Organizations, etc).
  • Develop and consistently enhance core curriculum focused on design thinking.
  • Develop standalone workshops based on student interests. The company has been lucky to receive tools from Raspberry Pi, Makey Makey, SparkFun, Twenty One Toys, Autodesk and Adobe. These tools are used to guide students to identify real-world problems.
  • Run community events at the lab (e.g. exhibits, design challenges, family maker night) and engage family members and community members.
  • Implement Monitoring and Evaluation Operating Procedures.
  • Work with the educator-in-residence at the partner school to host regular STEAM related programs and co-develop their curricula into project-based activities.
  • Create a peer-to-peer mentorship structure, leveraging the InChallenge finalists. • Enhance the InChallenge program based on the evaluations from 2015 InChallenge programs.
Qualifications: 

The following attributes are essential for success in this role:
  • Preferably 3 years of experience implementing innovative pedagogy using new technology, developing curriculum and running STEAM workshops.
  • Experience working with learners age 13-18, as well as working with educators. 
  • Ability to operate effectively and adapt to changing circumstances in limited resource environments.
  • Significant experience in sub-Saharan Africa, preferably Kenya.
  • Alignment with the social impact mission the company.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
