Job Profile
 
The successful Project Director candidate will be responsible for:

  • To be the face of the project.
  • Person Profile
  • Degree in Building, hospitality marketing or corporate finance disciplines with at least 15 years experience ¡n development management in different countries.

Our client, a leading supplier of a wide range of construction equipment, quality industrial and agricultural machinery in East Africa seeks to recruit a Mechanical Engineer. 
The ideal candidate will install and service diesel generators, water pumps, electric motors, construction equipment and other industrial machineries.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Repairing and servicing all the agricultural machinery and industrial equipment
  • Installation and serving of diesel generators, electric motors and water pumps (submersible borehole & surface pumps)
  • Making detailed reports on all the work that is done on each machine
  • Ensuring that all parts that need replacing are available in stock and make orders in advance so as not to slow the company’s operations
  • Working towards improving the performance of the machine by identifying faulty parts and repairing them before major problems arise in future
  • Keeping an inventory of equipment required for  repairing
  • Researching on all the latest machinery that is available in the market
  • Inspecting all the machines and making reports for the management
Qualification and Experience
  • At least a Diploma or a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other related  field
  • Be well versed with user manuals for all machines
  • Should have an idea of all latest repair equipments
  • Should have a minimum of 1 year of similar experience.
  • Should be proactive, independent, aggressive and passionate about the client business
  • Good interpersonal skills

About the job
We are looking to hire a Mechanical/Electrical engineer who will take on various projects assigned to him/her.

The successful applicant will be required to manage their own project portfolio, updating their manager on each project as required. You will be expected to deliver punctually and at utmost quality.

The job will entail site visits, meetings and supervisions from time to time.

You will be required to be responsive to client needs and to possess the ability to translate these needs into technical drawings, specifications and Bills of Quantity.

Some projects may be out of town or country and you will be required to avail yourself, as far as is reasonably possible, to attend to these promptly and regularly.
