Main responsibilities
  • Reports directly to the Chief Accounting Officer
  • Responsible for the completion of the monthly accounting cycle
  • Oversight of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Invoicing, Employee Benefits, Payroll, General Ledger
  • Coordinates final monthly financial statements with outside accounting firm
  • Oversight of small subsidiary offices
  • Small amount of travel to Mombasa, Dar es Salaam, Kampala and Juba required
  • Oversight of company registrations, tax returns, and intercompany transactions
Job Requirements:
  • Degree in Accounting from an accredited university
  • Ten years of “hands on” experience
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
  • QuickBooks experience required
  • Experience in multi company environment required
  • Must be able to communicate well in written English
  • Must be a leader and able to function in a fast paced work environment
  • VAT return preparation required

Administration Assistant (Salary 20,000)

Our client is a real estate firm based on Mbagathi Way. 
They are looking for an administration assistant, who shall be responsible for professional management of initial contact with visitors to the office or on the phone. 
They will assist the administration manager with; clients (mainly landlord, tenant and supplier) relations, filling and record maintenance and office management including catering for staff and meetings. 
The administration assistant will be reporting to the Administration Manager.

Job Responsibilities
  • Receiving and directing clients and visitors
  • Answering and directing phone calls to the respective recipients
  • Responding to general enquiries and FAQs
  • Receiving and distributing mail and other official documents
  • Drafting and typing correspondence
  • Taking minutes of internal meetings
  • Ensuring sufficient stock of stationary and refreshments
  • Making water and milk for office tea and coffee
  • Organising rooms, items required and refreshments for meetings
  • Carrying out other related tasks as might be required from time to time
  • Undertaking any ad hoc duties associated with the reception and administration function
Required Qualifications
  • Diploma in Business or Secretarial Studies
  • Proficient in MS Office and MS Outlook
  • At least 3 years experience working as a receptionist
  • Must be able to operate a pabx, computers and other office machines such as printers, scanners, fax, copier etc
