Terms of Reference for the CHEWs Curriculum and Manual Development

Main objective
 
The aim of this consultancy is take over the process and complete the ongoing development of a Community Health Workers training curriculum and manual for use by the Health Sector.

Specific Objective
 
The consultant will be required to specifically take up the following tasks:
  1. Facilitate a one day Technical Working Group validation meeting for the prepared draft curriculum.
  2. Edit the validated draft curriculum.
  3. Convene a one day stakeholder’s dissemination forum for the curriculum.
  4. Convene and coordinate a 5 days retreat for technical officers to develop a trainer’s manual.
  5. Facilitate a one day Technical Working Group validation meeting for the prepared draft Manual.
  6. Edit the validated draft Manual.
  7. Conduct pre-testing of the Manual and in cooperate the pretesting feedback.
  8. Convene a one day stakeholder’s dissemination forum for the manual.
Desired Background and Experience
  • Masters degree in curriculum development, public health, community health or any other related field.
  • Experience in the development of similar documents.
  • Solid technical background, analytical, planning and facilitation skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to work and facilitate a large team.
Deliverables
 
The consultant should submit a soft copy and hard copy of:
  1. Completed curriculum.
  2. Completed manual.
  3. Curriculum and Manual pretesting reports
  4. Curriculum and Manual stakeholders dissemination reports
