Marketing Executive
A young Institute of legal studies based in Nairobi desires to recruit a marketing executive to join its team. 
You will be working on a portfolio of Diploma and Certificate education programs, using (amongst others) both online and offline marketing techniques to reach targets. 
You will also be involved in the marketing of seminars and workshops.

You will be responsible for devising and implementing tactical campaigns to deliver students and workshop participant target and to raise the institute’s profile and reputation while at the same time monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of all marketing activities.

To be considered for this challenging and exciting role, you will need a degree (or its equivalent) in marketing, experience of using offline and on-line marketing channels be a self starter and an excellent communicator who is comfortable in giving presentation to large and small groups.

KEFRI Quality Assurance, Karura Workshop Mgr, and Internal Auditor Jobs in Kenya

Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) is a state corporation undertaking research in forestry and natural resources. KEFRI is ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System certified.

Quality Assurance Officer:

Duties and Responsibilities

Promoting quality culture and performance improvement throughout the Institute, ensure the processes needed for the Environmental Management Systems/Quality Management Systems are established implemented and maintained, handle Performance Contracting process, monitoring performance of the Environmental Management Systems (EMS)/Quality management Systems (QMS) and reporting to the Management, revising QMS/EMS processes and documenting the same in line with the changing operational environment, planning of internal audits, follow- up, management reviews, coordinating external audits as per certification contract, identifying quality and environment related training needs, liaising with external parties on matters relating to Environmental Management Systems/Quality Management Systems.

Qualifications for Appointment.
  • Worked for a minimum period of eight (8) years, three (3) of which must be at a senior position
  • Master’s Degree in Natural Resource Management / Management Science/Engineering Information Technology.
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Excellent skills in Information Technology
  • Professional qualification in EMS, QMS or OHSAS
Manager – Karura Workshop

The Karura workshop is a fully equipped wood processing facility with a sawmill, a variety of machines and equipment including timber seasoning, treatment, finishing as well as pilot production of chemical products.
The KEFRI Management wants to operate this unit on a commercial basis with an aim of generating profit. The Workshop manager will be answerable to the Enterprise Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

Carry out market research to identify the products in demand; prepare production and profitability budgets; plan and supervise production; set up and implement quality control systems; plan and implement marketing strategies; organize employee training programmes; maintain vehicles and equipment to ensure optimum performance; ensure security of assets at the mill, raw material and finished products; prepare monthly management reports.

Requirements for Appointment
  • Worked for a minimum period of eight (8) years in a wood based industry three of which must be at the position of Workshop Manager.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Wood science/ Mechanical / Agricultural Engineering from a recognized institution
  • Diploma in Sales and Marketing / Workshop management will be an added advantage
  • Excellent Marketing and communication skills
  • Computer literacy

Senior Internal Auditor
Job Grade KEFRI 11

Carry out Risk Assessment, prepare and implement annual audit plans, carry out audit checks to verify validity and accuracy, ensure that accounting procedures of the Institute are adhered to, implement regulations of the Institute pertaining to financial control and management, verify utilization of the Institute resources, prepare audit reports and follow up on implementation of management decisions, undertake audit investigations as may be required. Will be answerable to the Head of Internal Audit.

Requirements for Appointment
  • Worked satisfactorily for a minimum of six (6) years, three (3) of which should be at the grade of Internal Auditor I or in a comparable position.
  • A Certified Public Accountant (Kenya) or its equivalent.
  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Accounting Option / Finance) or its equivalent
  • Computer literate.

Medical Team Leader (MTL)

Based in Dagahaley Refugee Camp

Project Summary:

The objective of our project is to provide primary and secondary level of health care to the Refugees in Dagahaley refugee camp. 
MSF provides a full package of medical care through 4 primary health care units and I hospital (100 beds) with 24 hour emergency and OT.

Health services include curative, preventative, nutritional activities and emergency preparedness and intervention with partners.

The selected candidate will be reporting technically to the Medical Coordinator and hierarchically to the Field Coordinator. 
He/she will be responsible of the overall management of medical activities of the Dagahaley Refugee Camp project.

Location: 25% Nairobi and 75% in Dagahaley according to the needs.

Start date: 15th May 2013

Main Tasks include:
  1. Overview and coordination of all medical activities at field level including Primary Health Care, Outreach, Hospital and Emergency response.
  2. The MTL works in collaboration with the field team to ensure quality of all medical activities in accordance with the MSF protocols and MSF guidelines.
  3. The MTL is the medical representative in the field and assists the Field Co with stakeholder relations and attendance and/or communication at official medical meetings.
  4. Helshe provides support and guidance to the Hospital Director, FMA and the Outreach Supervisor
Requirements:
  • Preference to Recognized Medical Doctor. Paramedical diploma/degree considered only IF exceptionally strong in other requirements of MTL role.
  • 2 years post graduate experience related to the diploma /degree (preferably pediatrics and maternity)
  • Basic epidemiological background
  • Previous experience as Field Coordinator or Medical Field Referent with INGO
  • A minimum of 1 year experience with MSF preferably or with other INGO
  • Health/project Management experience desirable,
  • Registered and licensed to practise by the Kenya Medical and Dentists Board.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, strong initiative, able to handle complex assignments with proactive attitude, organized, autonomous and attentive to details.
  • Due to the nature of the work, Kenyan nationals with ability to speak Somali will be highly advantaged.

This is primarily done through supporting those businesses with high quality technology, engineering, project management and business planning advice under donor funded programmes.

The role is to manage the Energy Small and Medium Enterprises (ESME) programme under the World Bank administered Russian fund. 
The fund is for supporting Energy SMEs in Sub Sahara Africa to strengthen their capacity to provide energy services to poor communities in the SAA region.

Job Profile
  • Managing the programme on a day to day basis to ensure that its deliverables are met on time in each of the five countries.
  • Staff and Budget management: Ensuring that all staff, cooperating agencies, beneficiary SMEs and contracted parties implement their activities in line with the objectives and within the allocated budgets.
  • Ensuring there is proper communication and coordination among Government agencies, donor organizations and beneficiary SMEs involved.
  • Monitoring: Working with appointed M&E Coordinators to ensure the project progress is happening as planned.
  • Reporting: Ensuring that all required reports, both technical and financial, are delivered on time as agreed with the donors and that the reports are of high quality.
Person Profile
  • A strong first degree in the sciences with post graduate qualifications, preferably in business.
  • 7 Years experience with international donor programmes, with a strong track-record of delivering programme results and compliance with grant agreements.
  • Experience in the energy sector essential including project financing and investment, energy technology and the energy policy environment would be an advantage.
  • Experience with investment funds and working with Financial Institutions.
  • Experience working with Governments and Government agencies.
