We are seeking highly motivated, talented and hard working individual for the position of Outreach Program Specialist for our Nairobi office. 
As part of senior management, the Outreach Programs Specialist will provide technical leadership to APHIA Plus Nairobi outreach programs, improving scale-up/delivery of community outreach activities and targeting the most at-risk populations. 
S/he will work closely with NGOs, CBOs and relevant government ministries.
S/he will supervise and maintain cohesive Outreach Program teams and liaise with the service delivery teams to ensure linkages of community and clinical services.

Job Requirements
  • A degree in Social sciences. A Masters Degree in Public Health/social science will be an added advantage
  • Minimum 5 years experience in design and implementation of community outreach programs.
  • Experience working with USAID funded projects
  • Demonstrable ability to build strong relationships, work well as part of a team and facilitate the achievement of results.
  • Demonstrated collaborative approach with Government officials and civil society.
  • Good negotiation skills, diplomacy and tact.
  • Training and counterpart development skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills demonstrated through proven experience in establishing relevant project monitoring systems, assessment design and proposal development.
  • Strong management and leadership skills.

Kenya Red Cross - Program Director, and Instructors Jobs in Kenya

 Kenya Red Cross School of Emergency Medical Services (KRCS School of EMS) is an arm of Kenya Red Cross Society mandated to provide Emergency Medical Service trainings to meet the demand of the Pre-hospital Emergency Care in Kenya. 
To effectively run its programs the School is currently recruiting for the following positions:

 Program Director
1 Position

Reporting to the General Manager, the Program Director is responsible for the day to day operational, development, implementation and evaluation of the three level Paramedic progressions Program.

Main Responsibilities
  • Recruit, assign, supervise and evaluate all Paramedic program instructors.
  • Coordinate and provide oversight for classroom lecture content, lab content and clinical experiences.
  • Conduct classroom and online instruction as needed.
  • Prepare instructional schedule for each semester.
  • Coordinate MOU’s or contract agreements and renewals with community health agencies utilized for clinical and practicum rotations.
  • Secure and maintain the appropriate approval and/or renewal and accreditation status for the paramedic program.
  • Complete Annual Program Assessment.
  • Maintain and submit to the KRCS management statistical data regarding the program and student success at the end of each semester and recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain students course outlines and course evaluation records for the programs.
Minimum Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree with a Masters or a higher degree preferably in Health or Medical or Paramedicine related field.
  • Experience in Teaching Paramedicine courses highly valued.
  • At least 5 (five) years management experience.
  • Current certification in the following; Basic life support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life
  • Support (ATLS), Pediatric Life Support (PALS).
Key Competencies
  • The ideal candidate should be able to teach two or more of the following Paramedic modules; Anatomy and Physiology,
  • Medical Emergencies, Professional Practice in Paramedicine, Trauma, Patient assessment, Communication in Paramedicine,
  • Pharmacology and Critical Care integration.
  • Knowledge of online teaching platforms is highly valued.
  • Strong leadership, team building, conflict resolution and ability to deliver the School’s strategic objectives.

Instructors
3 Positions

Reporting to The Program Director, the Instructors are responsible for day to day program implementation with specific responsibility of course delivery including teaching didactic, lab sessions, clinical and practicum rotation.

Main Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize instruct and organize paramedic courses.
  • Assist in securing clinical and practicum sites.
  • Provide clinical and practicum/internship supervision to students enrolled to the Paramedic programs.
  • Provide classroom instruction and assist in the development of class schedules for the programs.
  • Assist in the design, writing, implementation and review of the Paramedic program.
  • Promote team work with the ability to support a cohesive school of EMS.
  • Ability to work with students in both one on one and in group instruction situations in a student-centered learning environment.
Minimum Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Health or Medical or Paramedicine related field from recognized institution of higher learning.
  • Current certification in the following; Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) instructor,
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support ATLS) instructor, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Key Competencies

Job Description:

The International Health and Development Division of ICF (formerly Macro International Inc.) seeks a Community Health Information Systems Advisor to join our team. The position is based in Nairobi, Kenya. This position will support strengthening of community health information in Kenya working through appropriate Government of Kenya (GOK) entities and along with stakeholders including USAID and implementing partners.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with GOK and USAID counterparts to determine priority areas in strengthening community health information system (CHIS)
  • Support GOK/MOH in implementing key activities to strengthen community health information by supporting technical working groups, advising counterparts and participating in the implementation of key activities
  • Coordinate the linking and integration of the CHIS with the District Health Information System (DHIS) and the National Health Information System (NHIS) in order to promote improved use of health data
  • Work with key stakeholders to build consensus various issues around CHIS particularly on data to be collected and/or managed by the various stakeholders
  • Support the GOK in developing an enabling policy framework that that will support enhancement and expansion of the CHIS from its current limited state to a more comprehensive and truly representative system
  • Supervise team members, create work plans, document achievements and submit quarterly reports.
Basic Qualifications:
  • A Master’s Degree in public health, public policy, health information or community health
  • Background in implementing, managing and assessing community –based health and social service activities
  • Experience working with national level stakeholders in strengthening systems including knowledge and experience with routine data collection, quality control, utilization and capacity building
  • Experience working with relevant ministries within the Kenyan Government and local partners
  • A sound technical background in M&E, health information, leadership and management as well as negotiation skills
