PR Assistant

Duties & Responsibilities
  • To publish the weekly corporate e-newsletter
  • To archive photos, brochures and flier artworks
  • To manage corporate events i.e. golf tournaments, exhibitions, shows
  • To co-ordinate the branding of CIC branches & area offices
  • To ensure that all GIG corporate events are well branded
  • To ensure adequate coverage(video and photography) of all GIG events
  • To manage the print media adverts and accounts
  • To ensure print media briefs are sent out and reflect the corporate image.
  • To help organize media briefings
  • To avail product artworks and images to the website team for posting
  • To monitor the media reports on daily basis
Skills & Knowledge
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Computer Skills (MS Office suite)
  • Graphics software knowledge skills (CS5)
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills
  • Photography & videography (shooting and editing skills)
Academic and professional Qualifications
  • Bachelors’ degree in Communication, Marketing, Journalism

Duties & Responsibilities
  • To manage development and uploading of digital signage
  • To give social media support  - posting on products and recent events, feedback to our users, changing the look of the pages weekly to keep fans interested
  • To work with the website team to harmonize the content, look and feel of the GIG group websites and improve on functionalities
  • To manage the digital screens by ensuring the artworks are availed at least a week after they have been crafted and in the correct playable format
  • To assist with graphics and design work for corporate newsletters and other communication materials
  • To ensure that the Intranet is constantly updated - updating content, events, photos
  • To take up the e-marketing project. Liaising with Google and other online marketing companies for the best way forward
  • To provide technical support in the Corporate Communication Department

Job purpose
  • Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, the main purpose of the role is to ensure effective compliance and
  • implementation of internal controls systems policies and procedures.
  • Among others, key accountabilities will include:-
  • Reviewing the adequacy of existing accounting systems and controls and recommending effective
  • internal controls
  • Carrying out regular audits to ensure compliance with approved management policies, procedures
  • and controls
  • Participating in identifying and assessing operational and financial risks that the company faces and
  • the counter measures required to manage and mitigate the risks
  • Preparing audit schedules and time tables
  • Perform efficiency and value for money audits to ensure that utilizations of resources is in accordance
  • with plans and budgets and in conformity with company requirements
  • Preparing timely and accurate audit reports and distributing to appropriate users.
  • Carrying out cycle audits with emphasis in the areas assigned to (Revenue, Payments or Production.)
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Bachelors’ degree in Commerce/ Finance or Business Administration
  • A qualified Accountant (CPA(K), / ACCA or equivalent) and be a member of ICPAK
  • A team player with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Sound knowledge of internal controls and risk management
  • Proficiency in ERP systems preferably SAP Version 6.0 will be an added advantage
  • High standards of ethics and values
  • Hands-on experience for at least Four (4) years in a comparable role

Project Manager 

Road Construction Project – 1 Position

Our client is a leading Construction Company in Africa, whose mission is to provide innovative engineering solutions to enhance the quality of life in Africa. 

The Company is based in Nairobi, with functional base in Eastern, Southern and Western Africa. 

Purpose of the Job
  • The Project Manager will be responsible for timely execution of the project(s) at site under strict time & cost schedules as provided in the DPP by adopting integrated project management methods across various Sites. 
  • He/ She will report to the Regional Operations Officer (ROO) 
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Attend joint meeting and give accurate feedback to management for information and action.
  • Plan, manage and integrate all Sites to ensure construction team members meet project safety, cost, time & quality objectives
  • Prepare, review and cause to be approved the execution plan (DPP), procedures and schedules to ensure they are realistic and achievable
  • Manage the delivery of the works as per approved project documents, established engineering practices and in accordance with employer specifications and requirements
  • Ensure monthly preparation, submission of acceptable certificates to the consultant / Engineer and ensure approval is granted as per contract.
  • Monitor, review progress of work, budgets, costs, and schedules for adequacy, funding, plant utilization and project risks in accordance with DPP and take appropriate action.
  • Ensure that accurate, effective and timely site contractual documentation is maintained as per conditions of contract
  • Maintain effective communication with all concerned including employer, consultant and any other regulatory bodies.
  • Compile daily, weekly and monthly site production reports and have them delivered the required persons.
  • Adhere to all QSHE procedures, policies and instruction
Required Qualifications:
  • Degree in Engineering.
  • Post Graduate qualification in a management discipline.
  • Must have 7 years prior road construction management experience with at least 2 projects
  • Registered engineer is preferable
  • Should be highly motivated, results driven and a good team player.
  • People, Communication, Analytical, Team building Skills, Computer Literate
  • Expatriate or local candidates are welcome
Salary range $3,000 - $ 5,000
