Unga Farm Care Production Supervisor Job in Kenya

 Unga Farm Care (E.A.) Ltd is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the position of Production Supervisor, reporting to the Plant Manager 

Job Objective / Summary 

Responsible for the production operations in the factory including production plan implementation, resource utilization and management of performance, quality and output. 

Description of Duties 
  • Supervision of the production process and Quality Assurance Systems 
  • Requisition of production materials and ensuring product availability to meet agreed quality and volume 
  • Preparation of shifts and assignment of duties to staff in the production floor 
  • Ensure that good manufacturing practices, environmental, security, health and safety regulations / policy are practiced throughout the production process and quality management systems are adhered to 
  • Preparation of the daily, weekly and monthly production reports 
  • Ensuring that scheduled plant maintenance and repair is carried out as planned 
  • Communication with relevant person from the store 
  • To carry out any other duties that may be assigned to him by the Management from time to time 
  • Lead and motivate the team into achieving production targets in terms of quality, safety, quantity, cost and timeliness 
 Job Specifications 
  • University degree: BSc. In Engineering, Food science and technology, Animal production or other sciences 
  • 3 years progressive working experience in a FMCG firm with 
  • One year in a similar position 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Knowledge of Kaizen/ Lean Manufacturing/QMS and its application 
  • Computer literate-working knowledge of MS-Office, Excel & PowerPoint 
  • Training in SHE an added advantage

  • Ability to multi task without loss of efficiency 
  • Ability to plan and prioritize production activities 
  • Ability to work independently and in teams

Position: Deputy Warehouse Manager

Overall Objectives:

Administration, receipt, storage, and issuance of a wide range of medical supplies, food items, spare parts, tools, equipments and other logistics materials for different projects and departments as well as maintenance of up-to-date inventories and conduction of periodic physical count of warehouse and storage items, under the supervision of the Warehouse Manage.

Specific Responsibilities: 
  • Reception of goods – checking the quantity and quality of goods, checking of the cold box and the cold chain-monitoring card, reporting of discrepancies or damage, updating stock cards, ensuring items are properly organised and are correctly stored 
  • Issuing of goods – to prepare outgoing goods, to ensure proper packing and labelling, to issue goods in compliance of FEFO and/or FIFO principle, to advise on the weight/volume of goods ready for dispatch, to organize and sends cargo to the projects 
  • Stock management/administration – to ensure correct recording of all information on stock cards, to assist on preparation of the monthly stock report, to prevent stock discrepancy, to carry-out physical stock counts, to monitor expiring items and store temperature, to enter logistics data in LogistiX7, to supervise assistant logistics and medical storekeepers
  • To ensure that goods are ready for dispatching 
  • To supervise warehouse staff in the absence of the warehouse manager
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable stock keeping experience, diploma in logistics management 
  • Excellent level of computer skills
  • Good command of English and relevant local language, both written and spoken 
  • Ability to organize & priorities workload independently, using initiative when appropriate 
  • Physically fit and be able to perform activity in the store (warehouse) and sufficient eyesight
  • Honesty, attention to details
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in a similar job 
  • Willingness to work outside office hours when needed 
  • Previous experience in managing team of 6 or more people

Overall Objectives:

This position is responsible for organising adequate, efficient and safe transport for all MSF personnel and goods including technical maintaining of MSF vehicles on a regular basis. .

Specific Responsibilities: 
  • To adhere to all MSF Driver rules and regulation 
  • To take a good care of their vehicles and prevent damage 
  • To perform daily and weekly vehicle checks and cleaning 
  • To drive safely, legally, and set a good example 
  • To achieve normal fuel consumption 
  • To properly fill in the vehicle administration and vehicle logbook 
  • To perform, weekly services, service A, B & C 
  • To follow-up maintenance work done outside MSF 
  • To maintain other different engine powered machines (generator, water pumps, etc) and technical equipment 
  • To ensure proper use of all workshop tools, fixed installations and equipments
Requirements: 
  • Demonstrable driving experience 
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a driver mechanic 
  • Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance 
  • High sense of responsibility and reliability 
  • Valid driver’s licence, also for trucks till 20MT 
  • Experience with 4 wheel drive 
  • Good communication skills, positive, flexible and responsible attitude. 
  • Good command of English and relevant local language, both written and spoken. 
  • Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance 
  • Previous experience in a similar role with other organizations desirable

MSF - Holland Supply Administrator Job in Lokichogio, Kenya

Position: Supply Administrator

Start: May / June 2012

Overall Objectives:

Maintain LogisticX 7 program including creating the appropriate documents for use by the other supply team members so as to receive and track goods and orders, creating all packing lists, waybills and any other documentation related to supply to the field and updating a monthly excel document for order overviews for all projects to Loki and Loki to local/NSC/Amsterdam.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • To be responsible for all data entering into LogisticX 7 - create appropriate documents for ordering and receptions, ensure all data has been authorized properly 
  • To ensure that receptions are done immediately both in Lox7 and excel based order overviews immediately after goods are received 
  • To report any anomalies in the database to the supervisor immediately
  • To update the Projects /Capital Order Overview regularly 
  • To discuss progress with the supervisor on a daily basis, reporting to the rest of the supply team at the weekly team meeting 
  • To report the performance of mission supply chain, the theoretical stock inventory, expiry date overview, monthly stock overview and transit stock reports of all locations regularly 
  • To report immediately to the supervisor of any discrepancy found in data system 
  • To perform additional duties as per the request of immediate supervisor
Requirements: 
  • Qualification either in administration, data entry or in statistics 
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years work experience in data entry/analysis, preferably in the logistics sector and with Logistics7 database, interest in logistics related issues 
  • Ability to organize & prioritize workloads independently, being proactive and using initiative when appropriate, maintain standards in difficult environments, sometimes with limited resources and support 
  • Strong professional ethics, in particular emphasis upon maintaining confidentiality of data records and results 
  • Good command of English (both spoken and written) and local language 
  • Competent computer skills in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel 
  • Ability to act as part of multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team 
  • Previous experience in a similar role with other organizations desirable
