Catholic Relief Services – USCCB is the official agency of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops for relief and development overseas. CRS supports programs in over 100 countries and works through local partners. We are seeking suitable persons to fill the following position.

Job Title: Project Officers – APHIAPlus

Narok County (2 positions - Ref.2012/13)


Job Purpose: The Officers report to the Project Manager and work through and with implementing Partners (IPS), APHIAplus consortium, GOK structures at national, county, district and community levels to ensure APHIAplus Rift Service Delivery to marginalized, vulnerable and underserved populations - people living with HIV (PLHIV) and orphans and children affected by HIV according to existing government /PEPFAR guidelines and to deliver on USAID/Kenya Strategic Goal for health: “Sustained improvement of health and well-being for all Kenyans”.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities


The officer is responsible for executing project strategies that would promote a holistic and integrated approach to addresses social determinants of health and sustainable delivery of services.


By providing the required technical direction to Implementing Partners (IPs) and working with GOK, the officer will contribute to the improved well-being of marginalized, poor and underserved populations particularly the PLHIVs and OVC targeted by APHIAplus Rift.


Main responsibilities will include;


    Create HHs linkages with savings and loan schemes, micro-insurance, entrepreneurship and vocational and job-readiness training opportunities
    Support IPs to mentor and transfer skills, to promote understanding of the nutritional needs of different target groups.
    Work with Livelihoods Officer to support interventions and strategies that increase food security, improved nutrition and sustainable livelihoods amongst the target groups.
    Work with IPs to support target groups increase access to education, life skills and literacy initiatives that ultimately contribute to better health.
    Work with IPs and other consortium partners to ensure target groups have access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene practices to limit the spread of infections
    Promote initiatives that address child maltreatment and stigma and discrimination by improving and expanding social and protective systems and services in public and private sectors.
    Work with government line ministries and other stakeholders to extend government strategies, policies and protocols regarding protection of target groups.
    Work with the MOH and Partners to ensure PLHIVs and their families receive quality HCBC services a per the National HCBC and PEPFAR guidelines


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements


    University degree in Public Health, Sociology, Nursing, or other relevant area of study
    Have 3-5 solid working knowledge in the following areas: OVC, HCBC, CT, Counseling, ART and dealing with social determinants of health preferably in an NGO setting
    3-5 year years experience in dealing with a multifaceted project and implementing integrated OVC/HCBC and HIV/AIDS projects, preferably in an NGO setting.
    Experience in implementing US Government-funded projects.
    Excellent understating of GOK, USAID and CRS operating procedures
    Ability to transfer skills and knowledge through, training, mentorship and accompaniment
    Demonstrated ability to foster integration in programming approach and work with various teams.
    Excellent written, oral communication and Computer Skills (Microsoft Office Programs).
    Fluent in English and Kiswahili. Local language skills preferred.
    A professional with high personal integrity, commitment & good stewardship of
    Ability to cope with work with people from diverse backgrounds
    Highly motivated and ability to empathize and be sensitive to others

Company based in Loresho is seeking a Software Developer who is experienced in LIMS and must also have DELPHI Programming language experience.


The key role task being as follows;


    Customization, upgrades and maintenance of the LIMS as well as other software in use by the company , in line with that approves user requirement and business needs.
    Perform routine database maintenance and other business continuity procedures.
    Perform routine and end user support and training
    Perform any other ICT related task as may be directed by the management from time to time.
