Divisional Manager – Infrastructure

Ref: SST/KE/DMI/2011

Key Responsibilities
  • Review project requests and proposals and assign projects to engineering staff;
  • Prepare and update project procedures including description of the project administration process and contract documentation guidelines;
  • Provide technical oversight and coordinate project implementation work while monitoring progress against project schedules;
  • Review project reports, assist in resolution of field problems and authorize change orders and resolutions;
  • Coordinate with Project Management Office to ensure project plans and relevant documentation is completed;
  • Serve as the liaison person with the Solution Development Team in project implementation;
  • Prepare the annual budget request for the Division including; staffing and equipment supply estimates; and
  • Manager divisional teams.
Requirements/ Qualifications
  • A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering ,Business Information Technology or related field;
  • Vendor Certifications in Cisco Networking/Security/Voice, Juniper Networking, CheckPoint, Structured Cabling, and other relevant networking /security/voice certifications.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a technical Telecommunications/ Engineering/ IT management position
  • Project Management experience and certification will be an added advantage.
For this position, you require strong planning and organization skills with excellent verbal and written communication.

You must also demonstrate the ability to work in a highly driven environment, be a strong leader who is results oriented and an innovative and strategic thinker.

Member, National Police Service Commission (Retired Senior Police Officers)

Article 246 (2) (a) (ii) of the Constitution and Section 5 (2 and 3) of the National Police Service Commission Act, 2011

Applications to fill the two vacancies were invited vide the advertisement that closed on 25th October 2011.

The Selection panel, having considered the applications received to determine their compliance with the Constitution and the National Police Service Commission Act, and having noted that only one application was received from retired officers from the Administration Police Service, hereby re-advertises the position of Member, National Police Service Commission (Retired Senior Administration Police Officers).

(Please note that those who had applied for this position in the earlier advertisement need not re-apply.)

For appointment as a Member, National Police Service Commission under this category a person must:

i. be a citizen of Kenya;

ii. hold a degree from a university recognized in Kenya

iii. be a retired police officer from the Administrative Police Service.

iv. have held the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police or above ; and

v. meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution;

Disqualification Criteria

A person shall not be qualified for nomination as a Member of the National Police Service Commission if the person

i. is or has been, at any time within the previous five years, a member of Parliament or a county assembly;

ii. is a serving State officer;

iii. is a member of a governing body of a political party;

iv. is an un- discharged bankrupt;

v. has been convicted of a felony; or

vi. has been removed from office for contravening the provisions of the Constitution or any other law.

ii. The salary and benefits for these positions shall be determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.

iii. The chairperson and members of the Commission will be appointed for a single term of six (6) years and are not eligible for re-appointment.

Postal Officers

Duties and Responsibilities
  • To discharge all postal duties pertaining to counter services, delivery and dispatch of mail and parcels.
  • Money transfer.
  • Sale of stamps.

Qualifications
  • KCSE Aggregate Grade C Plain
  • A Diploma ¡n Business Administration and a Driver’s/Rider’s License will be an added advantage.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be of good interpersonal relations and high integrity
  • Should be between 20—30 years old.
Drivers

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Carry out regular and daily vehicle checks as specified.
  • Maintain vehicles in a presentable and clean condition at all times.
  • Ensure vehicle defects are reported in time.
  • Ensure consistency in a vehicle unless instructed otherwise by the controlling officer
  • Ensure the assigned vehicle is fueled
  • Ensure proper hand-over recording during driver change over.
  • Take care and responsibility of assigned vehicle.
  • Provide vehicle records i.e. mileage, fuel drawn etc when required.
  • Maintenance and update of work ticket.
  • Ensure only authorized staff and cargo are carried by the vehicle.
  • Note down all passengers and cargo in the vehicle at all times.
  • Ensure licensing and insurance is always up dated.
  • Track down mileage and report regular service in time for booking.
  • Report any defects detected in the vehicle.
  • Ensure all vehicle use is authorized.
  • Follow all the laid down regulations in case of accident which include: -
  1. Stop at the scene.
  2. Notify controlling officer giving all the details
  3. Never accept liability.
  4. Notify the nearest police station in case of an accident
  5. Assist in rescue/recovery operations.
  • Any other job assigned by the controlling officer.
Qualifications
  • KCE Div IV or KCSE mean grade of D (Plain)
  • Valid driving license/BCE minimum.
  • Certification of driving by a professional body (AA of Kenya etc)
  • 5 years relevant experience.
  • Be a team player.
  • Certificate of suitability test for drivers.
  • First Aid Certificate from a reputable institution preferably St. John’s Ambulance.
  • Must be between 30 and 35 of age.
