Job Vacancies - Tsimba Children Home - Kwale, Kenya


Tsimba Children Home is a charitable children Institution which provides homecare to orphans and vulnerable children.

We are looking to hire both committed and dedicated people to serve in various positions at Tsimba Children Home.

1. Driver / Caretaker

The driver must be a self motivated person aged between 30 and 40 years of age.

The driver/care taker must be able to reside within the premises of the Home and play a father figure to the children by helping in sports, parental counseling and evening tuition. The person must also be willing to take on other duties as maybe requested by the manager.

The ideal person must have the following qualifications;
  • A form four graduate with a mean grade of C and above.
  • The person must have a valid driving license with at least three years of driving experience.
  • The person must command good written and spoken English.
  • Ability to use computer will be an added advantage.
  • Creativity and flexibility will be an essential skill for the candidate.
2. The house mother

The house mother should be a caring person who is ready to listen to the children and give them a shoulder to cry on. She must be a mother to the children and be ready to work round the clock. The house mother is a mother to children at Tsimba children Home. She must accept to stay within the compound.

The ideal person must have the following qualifications;
  • A form four graduate with a mean grade of D and above.
  • Must have worked with children before in the same capacity as a housemother or its equivalent.
  • Must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
  • Ability to use computer will be an added advantage.
  • Must be flexible in daily duties
3. The cook

The cook must embrace team worker and should be able to other small responsibilities like helping into garden, cleaning, washing. She/he must have a heart for children and should be interested in learning new cooking techniques and apply them.

The ideal person must have the following qualifications;
  • Certificate in Catering
  • A form four graduate with an aggregate grade of C and above.
  • Must have at least three years experience in the same position.
  • Child counseling skills will be an added advantage.
  • Willing to learn and appreciate new skill.

Tax Manager Job Vacancy - Financial Services Firm - Nairobi, Kenya


Position: Tax Manager

Location: Nairobi

Our client, a leading financial services firm specializing in audit, tax, Business Process Outsourcing and Financial Consultancy wishes to recruit a Tax Manager.

The successful candidate will be charged with the management of the tax department including managing the tax department team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Building new and existing client relationships and demonstrating knowledge of client business.
  • Reviewing Tax Returns file for clients, installment tax and final tax payments
  • Reviewing VAT audits and Withholding Tax Returns of clients as and when due
  • Conducting and supervising in-depth audits and statutory requirement compliance.
  • Advising clients on PAYE rules and regulations
  • Giving technical opinions on specific tax queries
  • Reviewing audit files for tax adherence
  • In charge of the tax team, including training on ongoing and upcoming matters
  • Liaising with clients to resolve matters related to audit and tax
  • Representing VSC when meeting new clients.
  • Any other duty as may be assigned by the partners
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA (K)
  • 6+ years experience in tax accounting
  • Significant supervisory experience (2 years plus).
  • Experience preparing individual, business, organization tax returns.
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills: proficiency in Tax software, Excel, Word.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented & ability to multi-task.

Chief Accountant Job Vacancy in Kenya - Communication Industry


Our Client is in the communication industry, providing reliable and high quality service and support in the Telecommunication and Broadcasting sectors.

In an effort to strength the company’s financial operational effectiveness, our client seeks to recruit a Chief Accountant.

The Position

The Chief Accountant will be tasked with the following functions among others:
  • Ownership of the Accounting & Reporting function: monthly, quarterly and annually. Leading the company’s Financial Management team and managing the processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting.
  • In charge of Project and Cost Accounting.
  • Ensuring credibility of the Finance function by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts, ensuring high quality Account Reconciliation.
  • Taking a lead in preparation of financial management information for the Board.
  • Reviewing of financial reports and ensuring that they comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Preparation of accurate and timely statutory financial reports, P&L analysis and Cash Flow management.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate Tax Reporting and timely reconciliations with Tax Authorities.
  • Assess and advise on the financial capacity of projects through financial monitoring and evaluation of projects by analysis of annual accounts, financial reports, policies and audits.
  • Coordinating activities of external service providers including external auditors; regulator; insurance brokers and underwriters.
  • Growing, leading, monitoring and reviewing a team of accountants.
  • Developing and implementing the company’s Finance strategy as well as developing financial budgets to support these plans.
  • Taking a hands-on lead position of developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive product cost and profitability system.
Qualifications
  • Hold degree a business degree from a recognized university
  • Be a qualified CPA (K) , ACCA or CFA
  • Have at a minimum 5 years accounting and financial management experience in a busy environment
  • Have at least two years experience using a reputable financial management software
  • Experience in a ICT environment will be an added advantage
Skills required
  • A strong team leader/ builder with excellent communications skills
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Possesses good analytical and report writing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications
  • Capable of meeting deadlines and working under pressure
