Fundilima Sacco Limited is a savings and credit co-operatives society mainly drawing her membership from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology staff.

To improve on service delivery, the society wishes to attract highly motivated individuals for the following positions on a three (3) years renewable contract:-

1. Accounts Assistant
FCSCS/ACC/5/2011


Reporting to the Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for loans reconciliations, loans recoveries, and maintenance of general ledgers and preparation of reports.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Be a holder of a B.Com with accounting options or equivalent OR
  • CPA Part 1(Section 1 & 2)
  • At least three years experience in Accounting/Auditing/ preferably in co-operative society
  • Be computer literate in word processing database management and spread sheets
  • Age 25-40 years

2. Internal Auditor

Reporting to the Audit committee functionally and administratively to the Manager, the position holder shall ensure accuracy of financial transactions and compliance with established policies, procedures and internal control systems as well as improving the effectiveness of risk management, controls and governance adequacy of internal controls, accuracy of financial transactions and compliance with established policies.

Minimum qualifications:
  • University degree in commerce, accounting, economics or Business Administration
  • CPA (K).
  • At least five years audit experience.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Word, Ms Excel and at least one audit software
  • Age limit 25-40years

3. Systems Administrator

Reporting to the Manager.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Diploma in IT. from recognized institution.
  • Experience in Sacco software
  • At least 2 years experience in a reputable firm preferably co-operative society
  • Age limit 25-40 yearsThose with Sacco related experience will have an added advantage

Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will ensure effective management of legal risks through compliance with legal norms and corporate governance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring the operating environment and advising the Company on the necessary policy changes in line with changes in the law and regulatory environment.
  • Advising and guiding Management and Board of Directors to ensure that the Foundation’s actions and its existence remain within the law.
  • Providing legal services to the Foundation on matters pertaining to debt collection.
  • Conducting legal research and rendering advice to the Company.
  • Preparing legal documentation and briefs for legal proceedings in court for use by external advocates assigned cases to handle/prosecute or defend.
  • Liaising with Attorney-General’s office on Copyright issues for JKF Publications and legal implications of co-publishing.
  • Analyzing insurance matters and advising Management on the same.
  • Ensuring timely filing of statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Formulating Company policies and other contractual documents.
  • Advising and assisting management on matters concerning CBA negotiations.
  • Handling litigation and conveyance issues.
  • Administration of the Company’s Provident Fund Scheme.
  • Serving as a Secretary to the Board of Directors.
  • To perform any other relevant duty assigned by the Managing Director.
Minimum requirements
  • Master of Law (LLM)
  • Bachelor of Law (LLB)
  • Must be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya
  • Must be a Commissioner for Oaths and Notary Public
  • Must be a member of the Law Society of Kenya or any other relevant professional body
  • Computer proficiency certificate
  • Have at least 7 years experience as an advocate.
  • Certification in Corporate Governance will be an added advantage
  • Must have excellent decision making, report writing and presentation skills.
  • Must have an analytical mind with proven managerial, leadership and organizational skills.
  • Must be of high integrity, a team player, with excellent interpersonal skills.

Reporting to the Audit Committee of the Board, the successful candidate will lead a team of auditors in implementing the Company’s internal policies and procedures.

He/She will be responsible for conducting risk based financial statements audits, compliance audits and provide professional advice on matters of risk management and corporate governance.

Key responsibilities
  • Planning audit programmes and execution of the same.
  • Developing an effective risk management process;

  • Maintaining effective governance processes
  • Operate an effective monitoring and evaluation system
  • Liaising with the external auditors in the Foundation’s annual audit

Minimum requirements
  • Masters Degree in Business Administration.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or its equivalent from a recognized university.
  • CPA (K) qualification or its acceptable equivalent.
  • CIA, CFE or CISA Certification.
  • Quality Management Standards training.
  • A member of ICPAK, The IIA or ISACA in good standing.
  • Working ICT knowledge in accounting systems with proficiency in CAATS.
  • At least 7 years relevant experience of which three must be in audit.
  • Be conversant with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and IFRS’s.
  • Must have excellent decision making, report writing and presentation skills.
  • Must have an analytical mind with proven managerial, leadership and organizational skills.

Our client, a leading retailer for home shopping is looking for a Retail Store Manager to be based initially in Dar-es-salaam – Tanzania with a possibility of later posting to either Mwanza, Arusha or Zanzibar.

Candidates currently working in any of the major retail stores (supermarkets) and looking for a management position encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maximise the operating profit of the store, by ensuring heightened service levels as well as effective management of resources, sales and costs.
  • Effectively manage the staff and regularly monitor performance within the store.
  • Ensure store expectations and priorities are communicated to staff and regularly review and provide feedback on staff’s performance against expectations.
  • Ensure staff are trained and managed to provide excellent customer service
  • Ensure that there is a supervisor presence within the Section/store at all times.
