Qualifications/Requirements

Manager/Housekeeper
A Diploma in Hotel management or equivalent and computer literate. Creative and ability to manage resources and to work with minimum supervision. Those with Previous experience will have added advantage.

Cashier/Storekeeper/Receptionists
Minimum Form IV level of Education complemented with relevant training. Previous experience may be required but it is not a prerequisite for the job.

Waiters:
Minimum Form IV level of Education. Previous experience may be required but it is not a prerequisite for the job.

Cooks/Chefs:
Minimum Standard 08 level of Education complemented with relevant training and/or experience.

Cleaners:
Minimum Standard 08 level of Education. Previous experience may have added advantage.

Security Guards:
Minimum Standard 08 level of Education and medically fit. Those with relevant training and/or previous experience may have added advantage but it is not a requirement.

Communications Officer Job Vacancy (Annual Salary and Allowances: Kshs 2,500,000 - Kshs 2,700,000)

Communications Officer

One year contract (renewable to a maximum of three years)


Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Applications are invited for a Communications Officer to source and share the best news, information and resources from Provinces in Africa, with a focus on East Africa.

This position will be principally managed by the Anglican Communion Office’s Director for Communications in co-operation with CAPA staff.

The Communications Officer will work closely with Provincial communications staff and General Secretaries to ensure that through a range of communications channels, including the Anglican Communion News Service, those inside and outside the Communion have a clearer understanding of the challenges and successes of church mission and life in that region.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications or an equivalent degree;
  • Demonstrated experience as a working journalist/press officer and strong writing and precise editing skills in English;
  • A sound knowledge of Anglicanism in Africa;
  • Experience of undertaking communications work in other countries;
  • Good IT skills and understanding of Social Media;
  • Existing relationships with regional and international media

Job Purpose: Design & Implement an effective accounting and internal control system for revenue generation and collection at JKIA, supervise revenue activities and maintain a proper and complete records at the station

Scope of work / duties / responsibilities
  • § Guide the formulation and implement an effective accounting and internal control system for ANS revenue activities at the station.
  • § Review revenue accounting procedures periodically to gauge their effectiveness, recommend changes as necessary and carry out periodic inspections to obtain an assurance of compliance with approved revenue policies and procedures
  • § Administer the Billing Management System at the stations
  • § Review transaction records to obtain an assurance of completeness and accuracy of data as captured.
  • § Maintain control accounts for ANS revenue streams and reconcile them to ledger records and investigate any discrepancies arising out of these reconciliation and take action as appropriate.
  • § Coordinate invoicing activities for ANS revenue in all stations to ensure that invoices are accurate, complete and that they are prepared on a timely basis
  • § Supervise the receipt of money from customers and maintains security procedures to ensure that all money collected is banked intact by KRA/KCAA cash office personnel.
  • § Respond to audits, customers and management queries on matters relating to ANS revenue generally at the stations.
  • § Supervise the activities of subordinates in all ANS stations, plan and implement staff training plans and address skills development and motivation issues relating to subordinates
  • § Prepare and submit a consolidated ANS revenue report to the Senior Revenue Accountant at the end of each month.
  • § Prepare revenue and expenditure monthly reports that may be required for Management information.
  • § Carry out any other duties within their competence as may be assigned by Chief Accountant Revenue
Qualifications
  • § A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting Option) or in a relevant area like Economics or Business Administration.
  • § A CPA (K) or ACCA or equivalent.
  • § An MBA will be an added advantage.
Experience
  • § 3 years experience in busy financial and accounting environment with reporting and supervisory responsibilities
Knowledge and skills
  • § Knowledge of other areas in finance, such as, ledger accounting
  • § Knowledge of the ANS operations, procedures and customers, including rates, charges and tariffs for various services offered
  • § Practical knowledge of billing management systems
  • § Computer literate, proficient in MS Excel
  • § Detailed, accurate and working to strict reporting deadlines
  • § Communication and interpersonal skills required to liaise with internal and external customers
  • § Strong analytical, negotiation and computer application skills and proficiency in the use of the BMS software and Ms Excel.
