Program Officer - Training and Capacity Building
The Eastern Africa Grain Council (EAGC) is a membership-based organization registered in Kenya with country offices in Uganda and Tanzania.
Our members are key
stakeholders and players in the grain value chain including cereal
growers, millers and processors drawn from within and outside the East
Africa States.
Our core mandate is to
develop and promote orderly structured marketing systems and provide
market information for grains so as to reduce transaction costs and
eliminate barriers’ to regional trade.
The Eastern Africa Grain Institute (EAGI) is a division of Eastern Africa Grain Council (EAGC), which aims at providing agribusiness training, capacity building and consultancy services to key stakeholders in the grain value chain on a sustainable basis.

institute is to be recognized as the regional centre for innovations and
advancements in the Grain Industry in Eastern Africa.
We seek to recruit a Program Officer – Training and Capacity Building for the Eastern Africa Grain Institute (EAGI) who has a strong work ethic, highly organised, team player, self motivated and able to work under minimum supervision.

The successful candidate will perform the following among others:
- Identifying, developing, and evaluating the marketing strategy, to market the institute training courses and services and create publicity for the Eastern Africa Grain Institute through various media including web marketing, print and other relevant form of media.
- Participating in conducting stakeholders training needs analysis and curriculum design and development.
- Preparing and implementing an annual training calendar including budgets for EAGI.
- Monitoring and reviewing the impact of capacity support and performing evaluations.
- Establishment of collaborations with other learning institutions and universities.
- Participating and supporting the process of recruitment of associate trainers.
- Setting and managing a Grains Institute resources center.
- Ensuring compliance of the institute with various statutory, regulatory and legal provisions.
Qualification, Skills and Experience:
- Graduate qualification in Education.
- Post graduate qualifications will be an added advantage.
- 2 years relevant work experience with a bias in client services sales and marketing.
- Strong communication skills.
