2016 Wings to Fly Scholarships

This year, the Wings to Fly program will offer 2000 comprehensive secondary school scholarships across the country.

We believe the best way to empower the next generation is to support them in accessing education. 

The Wings to Fly scholarships will be given to top performing pupils ranked in the top 5 percentile in the 2015 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education [KCPE) exam and who are economically and financially challenged, from all over Kenya. 


Only children from needy backgrounds who would otherwise not afford to join Form 1 without financial support are considered for the scholarships.

Details about the Scholarship
 
Candidates who will attain 350 marks and above are advised to fill, in the application form, attach their result slip and return to the nearest Equity Bank branch or Equity Bank Agent.

Application forms can be obtained from Equity Bank branches or nearby Equity Bank Agents.
 
Completed application forms must be returned to the Equity Bank branch not later than 6th January, 2016.

Shortlisted students will be invited for interviews which will be conducted by the Equity Group Foundation Community Scholarship Selection Board [CSSB).

The Wings to Fly scholarship caters for school fees, books, uniform, transport, shopping, and pocket money for the four years of secondary school.

The Wings to Fly program is a partnership between Equity Bank, The MasterCard Foundation and Equity Group Foundation. 

It is a program that provides comprehensive Secondary School education and leadership training to academically promising yet economically and socially marginalized young Kenyans.

ICT Interns

ICT Intern (2 Positions)

Basic Qualification


At a minimum, the applicant should be a degree / diploma holder who has just finished the course work in 2015. 

Specifically, the student should have basic training and proficiency in:
  • Basic Networking
  • Microsoft Server 2003 & 2008
  • SQL configuration
  • Microsoft Office 2007 Suite
  • Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
  • Exposure to any UNIX based Operating System is desired but not required.
 
Duration: The internship will run for a minimum of 3 months.
 
Work Details: working under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the ICT intern will be trained on specific project implementation and for the resolution of identified technical problems, as well as undertaking general tasks which will promote the use of ICT across the firm. 

The ICT intern’s job responsibilities will spread across Project Division.

Our Client is an Engineering company (Electrical and Telecommunications)

The PM is responsible for roll- out issues related to site built, electrical, installation,  budgeting and forecasting as well as financial optimization of the roll- out’s overall project costs.

PM’s range of responsibilities more specifically include:
  • To be a member of the Company’s management group and actively contribute to develop the  roll - out efficiency towards long-time stability in the market
  • Support the OM in the activities of the operations. Focus to secure a flexible and optimal roll- out structure matching operational budget requirement at any point in time;
  • To be in charge of the project site supervisor’s activities & products. Organize and allocate the responsibilities office & for field works.
  • To be in coordination with ITCI manager for installation & commissioning and integration scopes together with logistics responsible for supplies of material required for civil works
  • Work in harmony with Design Manager for any required structural & architectural designs, permits and tests before construction starts, during and after construction progress up to site hand over to client.
  • To make sure that all the assigned tasks are saved in as inventory by site supervisors and cost controller reflected the expense in quotation format to both client and company finance department for PO & invoicing process
  • Organizing the supervisors & teams for each scope of work as per departments and requirements
  • To increase or decrease the project supervisors as per the projects needs when ever necessary in coordination with OM
  • Reporting to client as per client’s format and time scale
  • Following site supervisors’ activities for civil works, filing , reporting and documentation for each job assigned
  • To follow up assigned team activities and ensure that all team members contribute maximum for the project
  • Arranging internal meetings with supervisors in order to improve or re-structure the system as per the grooving and changing needs if needed with presence of DM & ICTI Manager & Structural design team & OM
  • Ensuring the conditional & final site acceptances are achieved on time and site hand over is done to client
  • Be prepared to act as deputy OM.
  • As deputy OM, PM possesses his/her authorities when called upon.
  • PM is authorized to perform the tasks assigned to his/her position.
  • Appropriation- and attestation in accordance with administrative routines.
Requirements
  • A Degree in Electrical or Telecommunications engineering
  • A Project Management qualification
  • At least 3 Years experience in Project Management
