The Role
  • Meeting clients
  • Taking prospective clients to various properties
  • Following up with clients on feedback
  • Closing letting potential deals
  • Taking property details for any new properties we receive
  • Preparing the brochures and various write ups
  • Preparing the reports in accordance to company systems
  • Updating the company systems as required and as per the policy
Requirements
  • Strong background as a letting or sale agents (preferred)
  • University degree or equivalent (preferred in Land Economics or Real Estate)
  • KCSE mean grade to be B- or higher
  • Good marketing and communication skills
  • Basic Photography skills required
  • Computer skills mandatory
 
Salary: 30,000 + 5%-10% Commission

icipe wishes to urgently recruit a suitable person to fill the position of Treasury Accountant in the Finance and Administration Department, Accounting Section. 

The position is tenable at the icipe Duduville Campus in Nairobi, Kenya. 

This is a two-year contract, with a possibility of extension after successfully completing a six-month probation period of the first contract. 



Overall purpose of the job
  • Daily cash reporting and daily execution of cash activity including receipting and payments.
  • Preparation of cash and bank reconciliations.
  • Preparation of journals to capture transactions in the General ledger.
Responsibilities:
  • Daily execution and reporting of cash activity by maintaining daily and monthly report of transactions;
  • Receive cash and cheques from staff and suppliers and issue receipt vouchers;
  • Disburse funds from the cash office upon approved requests and issue payment vouchers;
  • Carry out regular cash counts at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change;
  • Prepare bank transfers and journal templates for verification and upload on the online banking;
  • Prepare cheque payments for suppliers and statutory deductions, where necessary and deliver payment - remittances to suppliers;
  • Process the monthly casual staff payroll, attaching requisitions and supporting contracts, forward for verification and payment;
  • Process the journals for payments, bank charges and interest for review and posting into the ledger;
  • Perform reconciliations for cash imprest and bank account on a daily basis and at the month-end;
  • Assist in preparing the statutory returns, files and retrieve records and reports as requested;
  • Assists in providing supporting documentation and/or information on internal process that is required for audit purposes;
  • Provide assistance and training to others and especially to the attachees in the work unit;
  • Support the Senior Treasury Accountant and perform any ad hoc tasks as required by supervisor.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Accounting degree in business administration/finance required with a minimum CPA-II certificate in accounting.
  • Well-rounded treasury or payables background of 3 years with experience of multi-currency payments.
  • Excellent skills using MS Word, Excel, Access and Internet Explorer, and familiarity with Sun-system accounting will be an added advantage.

  • Possess exceptional analytical reasoning skills to think problems thoroughly and generate solutions;

  • Ability to operate effectively in a team, contributing positively to team operations and working relationships;
  • Proficiency in communicating with the management and staff of the company;
  • Must be proactive, with the ability to work under pressure and meet and surpass project deadlines.
Reporting: This position reports to the Treasury Manager.

Overall purpose of the job
  • Preparation of payroll using enabler payroll system so as to provide accurate and timely processing of the company payroll and to meet internal and statutory obligations.
  • Leading, managing and participating in the preparation of pension accounts, including employer and employee contributions.
  • Managing the leave planning system and controlling against leave policies defined in the HR system.
Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and processing of monthly payroll and ensuring the payroll is processed accurately and on a timely basis;
  • Establish/maintain employee records, and ensure that employee changes are updated correctly;
  • Coordinate between payroll, human resources, finance, research and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports, e.g. pay slips, leave balances, head count, and retirement contribution reports);
  • Preparation of pension accounts (including employer and employee contributions and compilation of financial accounts for pension funds);
  • Maintaining and reconciling employee leave, sickness and other leave reports;
  • Review contracts and other payroll changes for proper authorisation and adherence to the company’s policies, including compliance with local labour regulations;
  • Prepare all payroll related journals and reconcile payroll related General Ledger accounts;
  • Reconcile and file all monthly and annual payroll-related returns, e.g. PAYE, withholding tax, NSSF, NHIF etc.;
  • Assists in providing supporting documentation and/or information on internal process that is required for audit purposes;
  • Provide excellent internal customer service and deal with all payroll-related queries;
  • Handle any ad hoc tasks as necessary.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Accounting degree in business administration/finance required with CPA-III.
  • Three or more years experience in accounting including payroll operations.
  • Knowledge of human resources and payroll software is preferred.
  • Excellent skills using MS Word, Excel, Access and Internet Explorer.
  • Understanding of payroll/labour legislation and processes.

The Government of Kenya (GoK) in conjunction with the World Bank is implementing a four-year Infrastructure Finance and Public Private Partnerships Project (IFPPP) whose overall development objective is to increase private investment in the Kenyan infrastructure market by improving the enabling environment to generate a pipeline of bankable PPP projects. 

This objective will be achieved through the provision of technical expertise and building capacity to implement the Government’s Public Private Partnerships (PPP) National program. 

 
The Public Private Partnerships Unit (PPPU) at the National Treasury is looking for a highly motivated international expert, for a period of one (1) year (renewable), to fill the position of:
 
Procurement Expert 
(1 Post)
 
The Procurement Expert is expected to perform the following tasks:
 
a) Provide the requisite PPP Procurement advice and support to the PPP Unit to carry out its mandate to assist Contracting Authorities (CAs) to identify, select, appraise, approve, negotiate and monitor PPP projects throughout their life cycle;
 
b) Support the PPP Unit in establishing and operationalizing standard procedures and templates for various procurement activities in the PPP life cycle;
 
c) Advise and assist the Unit on the development of Kenya’s PPP framework for PPP/infrastructure investment or procurement;
 
d) Advise on the provisions of disclosure of project and contract information in PPP projects;
 
e) Advise on the PPP procurement and contract management capacity building requirements for the PPP Unit and PPP nodes and support in their implementation;
 
f) Generally provide expert PPP Procurement input into all aspects of the PPP Unit’s activities.
 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • A university degree in procurement, law, engineering, commerce or any other relevant qualification.
  • A post graduate qualification on procurement and/or PPP advisory services is desirable;
  • A minimum of 10 years’ demonstrated experience in the field of procurement in a busy public or private sector environment is desirable;
  • Experience in drafting of PPP procurement documents and other related documents / agreements; 
  • PPP procurement, and managing bidding processes will be an added advantage; and
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is essential, as are strong interpersonal and team skills.
