Job Purpose: Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the job holder will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure sustainable production of sugar cane in the Nucleus Estates & the Out growers zones to meet factory capacity demands in terms of quality and quantities delivered. 
He/she will be accountable for policy development and enforcement,  key process management supervision, timely direction on Agriculture business emerging challenges such as; fertilizer sourcing, external cane sourcing, weed management options, timely sourcing of support services ( land preparation & transport units)

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Take full responsibility on cane development, maintenance, harvesting and cane loss management during harvesting and transport. Take full control on field staff performance management.
  • Ensure the timely supply of the right quality and quantity of sugar cane to the factory to meet the organization’s targets as set out in the strategic plan.
  • Working hand in hand with relevant functions, put in place measures to assure continued positive sugar cane supplier relations within the out growers zones.
  • Develop strategic alliances and working relationships with stakeholders to ensure continued availability of quality sugar cane at low costs and of the highest quality to meet the annual factory demands
  • To provide technical expertise in sugar cane farming-extension services, soil fertility management and other related operations.
  • Lead the formulation and implementation of strategic and operational plans for the department that are in line with MSC business goals.
  • Lead the department in technical direction and timely cost effective innovations
  • On an ongoing basis, lead agricultural research on seed cane, fertilizer and soil fertility, improve production per unit area of land.
  • Avail latest research findings to production efforts ensuring strategic implementation of on-going improvements.
  • Offer timely support to all Agriculture functions in terms of cane development (survey & roads), vehicle maintenance, and farm inputs & cane transport unit availability & management.
  • Put in place measures to ensure logistical efficiencies are maintained in sugar cane harvesting handling and transportation to the factory and planting sites;
  • Maximize use of available ICT business systems to ensure they provide an edge in delivering best practice.
  • Oversee the preparation of the Department’s annual operating and capital budgets ensuring that the budget conforms to the overall business strategy and remaining accountable for its implementation;
  • Manage staff costs and other operating expenditure on an on-going basis to significantly reduce the cost per ton of Cane produced
Experience and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agriculture Engineering or  related field
  • Master of Business Administration – Strategic Management or Masters of Science in Agriculture or related field an added advantage.
  • 10 Years’ experience in Management of Agricultural services in a similar environment, 5 of which must be in senior management

Job Purpose: Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Services Officer will be a strategic thought-partner, a hands-on and participative person who will lead and develop an internal team to support the following areas: finance, business planning budgeting and IT.
 
She/he will ensure internal controls, accounting standards across the core business cycles-treasury, revenue, financial reporting, expenditure, information security & control and production cycle.
 
She/he will play a critical role in partnering with the senior leadership team in strategic decision making and operations as MSC continues to enhance its internal capacity.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate periodic, monthly and annual financial statements; collate financial reporting materials/data.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors; assess any changes necessary.
  • Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with other Chief Officers, administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial status.
  • Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
  • Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s overall policy and procedure manual.
  • Effectively communicate and present the critical financial matters to the Executive Committee & board of directors.
  • Manage company policies regarding capital requirements, debt , taxation, equity  and as appropriate prepare annual accounts
  • Ensuring that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met regarding all the company’s financial affairs
  • Provide strategic and quality leadership throughout the ICT department
  • Organize ,manage and motivate the available human capital within the ICT department through establishment of  suitable organization structures  and implementing development programmes  to optimize competence and productivity
  • Ensure appropriate controls and monitoring mechanism to ensure optimal efficiency, resource utilization and cost containment.
Experience and Skills:
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance related field.
  • MBA in Commerce, accounting, finance or tax or closely related fields will be an added advantage
  • Fully qualified  CPA or ACCA
  • 10 years of overall professional experience;  5 of which must be in a senior  role  with  broad financial and operations management experience

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree is a mandatory requirement.  A master’s degree will be  an added advantage

Position Summary: The Senior Technical Officer (STO), Strategic Information (SI) and Research will be a member of the Research and Learning (R&L) team.
He/she will contribute to testing and evaluating regional and local solutions to health systems and community barriers impeding the provision of quality services to key and vulnerable populations including migrants along major transport corridors in the ECSA region; and in particular cross-border areas. 
He/she will support implementation of the research agenda including the design and implementation of special studies and operationalization of a comprehensive M&E plan focusing specifically on systems for collecting data to measure project implementation, effectiveness, quality assurance, documentation and reporting. 
The position holder will support implementation of strategic information activities in accordance with guidelines stipulated by USAID and national regulations of countries where CB-HIPP will have interventions. 
The STO SI and Research, will, in liaison with other R&L team members, regularly update project management on progress towards implementation of the work plan, and design methods to demonstrate program outcomes and impact. 
The incumbent will generate accurate data analysis and reports to inform program design, implementation and evaluation; regional and national policy, and respond to the project reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements:
·                     Bachelor’s degree in Epidemiology, Bio Statistics, Demography or related field with 7-9 years relevant experience or Master’s degree with 5-7 years of relevant professional experience, developing, managing and implementing health sector development research;
·                     Experience in data analysis and monitoring and evaluation of large HIV and AIDS programming preferably with USAID-funded multi-country/regional projects;
·                     Experience working in close collaboration with high-level government and other counterparts required;
·                     Thorough understanding of USG processes, procedures and policies related to PEPFAR; policies and guidelines on HIV and AIDS prevention, care and treatment; epidemiology of HIV and AIDS; USG/PEPFAR program activities on HIV and AIDS in East, Central and South African (ECSA) countries
·                     Demonstrated knowledge of evaluation designs for HIV and AIDS/FP/RH/TB, malaria and STI programs as well as knowledge in health and other programs in the ECSA countries;
·                     Proven experience in public health-related research and/or surveillance;
·                     Demonstrated experience in developing research reports;
