Senior Associate Advocate – Team Leader

Our client, a leading law firm is looking for an experienced ‘senior associate advocate’ working as a team leader guiding a group of five lawyers.

Ideal candidates would have a solid base of more senior experience in litigation and the insurance sector and be able to supervise, manage and co-ordinate the allocated team of advocates and legal assistants to ensure that the highest quality of service is given to the law firm and the client.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the allocated legal files and ensure that the monthly settlement targets for the team are achieved and prepare files for hearing.
  • Conduct a thorough and detailed analysis of claim documents and come up with a proper management system and strategies.
  • Manage and coordinate the court attendances and diaries of the advocates.
  • Ensure and maintain the highest standard of service for the team.
  • Litigation and management of critical files.
  • Preparation of monthly performance reports and other routine reports for their team.
 
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university
  • Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law and is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
  • 5 years post admission experience in litigation, 2 of which must be in a managerial -- supervisory position
  • Familiar with local statutes including the Insurance Act and the Motor Vehicle Third Party Risks Act
  • Excellent litigation and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in use of computer applications
  • Have integrity, strong leadership, analytical and problem solving skills.

Accounts Assistant

We seek to recruit a self driven individual to fill the position below:

Position: Accounts Assistant

Reporting to:
 Finance Manager

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Pass accounting entries in Sera accounting software;
  • Process sales and receipt journals and allocate them through an integrated accounting system (Sera) and ensure they are posted to the right GL accounts
  • Overseeing inventory receipts and issues, obviously maintaining accurate accounts for purchased Goods and accessories at all times
  • Maintain Fixed assets register and updating the same on a monthly basis
  • Point of contact for the customers on invoicing and receipting.
  • Petty cash handling and reconciliation
 
Required Competencies
  • Strong Business Acumen.
  • Highly analytical and strategic thinker.
  • Quick learner with Demonstrated experience in Handling day to day accounting duties
  • Adaptive to change
  • Communicates with clarity and decisiveness when dealing the staff on money matters.
Qualifications
  • CPA part 2 level, a bachelor’s degree in accounting is an added advantage
  • At least 2 years of related professional accounting experience as an accountant or a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of excel, Microsoft word, and accounting software.
  • Should be capable of working independently
