Corporate Communications Officer (Social Media)

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is a State Corporation established under the National Transport and Safety Authority Act 2012. 
Its overall mandate is to implement policies relating to road transport and safety.
 
NTSA is seeking to recruit qualified staff for the following positions:
 

Corporate Communications Officer (Social Media)

Reporting to the Deputy Director, Corporate Communications, the Corporate Communications Officer (Social Media) main responsibilities will be to:
·                     Support creation of a social media strategy that collaborates with NTSA core mandate, corporate communications and advertising campaigns and trends in the transport sector.
·                     Create timely and engaging social media content for use and to the intended audience.
·                     Monitor sites for NTSA brand enhancement opportunities and initiate conversations on behalf of the Authority.
·                     Analyse and report on the Authority’s social media actions for successes and new opportunities.
·                     Create engaging and professional social media visuals that reflect the company and its brand
·                     Customize NTSA social media pages (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc).
·                     Stay current with social media trends and tools – including social media networking and participating in relevant industry blogs.
·                     Initiate Authority’s social media etiquette skills to ensure delivery of the right online messages, answering queries, stimulate discussions on NTSA mandate and encourage debate.
·                     Create Authority’s real time content and ideas on social media.
·                     Liaise with corporate communications and other departmental teams to create a solid social media platform for NTSA.
Qualifications and Experience:
 
Applicants must possess the following:-
·                     At least two (2) years of social media experience preferably with account management experience.
·                     Degree or Advanced Diploma in Marketing, Public Relations, communications, Journalism or any other business related course.
·                     Diploma in Information Communication Technology (ICT) will be an added advantage
·                     Proven experience including but not limited to Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, Google Communities, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube and more.
·                     Proven knowledge of social media and analytics software (Hootsuite, Raven Tools, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, etc.).
·                     Working knowledge of social media paid advertising campaigns including Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter.
·                     Strong understanding of user-generated content management, content communication and reputation management.
·                     Strong written and verbal communication skills.
·                     Strategic content creation and excellent writing skills.
·                     Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
·                     Exceptional time management skills.
Senior Corporate Communications Officer

Reporting to the Deputy Director, Corporate Communications the Senior Corporate Communications officer main responsibilities will be to:
·                     Maintain data and documentation arising from media monitoring and follow up on NTSA media coverage and mentions
·                     Support in developing and implementing effective internal and external media relations strategies
·                     Support in the implementation of the Authority’s communication approach with the media and other electronic and digital communication platforms;
·                     Participate in the facilitation of media visits to NTSA functions and other operational facilities/areas
·                     Maintain and update the Authority’s media library
·                     Support in information development and updates of NTSA e-communication and digital sites.
·                     Produce suitable communication materials for media house use, NTSA e-communication and digital sites, stakeholder’s events, newspapers and magazines supplements and annual publications.
·                     Carry out any other duties that may be assigned by the Deputy Director, Corporate Communications.
Qualifications and Experience:
 
Applicants must possess the following:-
·                     Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations or other relevant field from recognized institution(s).
·                     Postgraduate diploma in journalism, public relations; or any other relevant field will be an added advantage.
·                     Five (5) years relevant work experience, three (3) years of which must have been at a position in corporate communications, public relations or journalism in a large organisation.
·                     Proven writing skills.
·                     Excellent command of English language and writing skills.
·                     Be highly analytical, assertive and a team player.

Reporting to the Head, Investment Banking, the person in this position will be responsible for preparation of management and financial reports, enhance internal controls whilst ensuring compliance with the IFRS, Taxation Act and regulatory guidelines as outlined by Capital Markets Authority.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of this position will be;
·                     Prepare the monthly financial performance and the accompanying analysis for the Investment Banking Business.
·                     Prepare the quarterly financial reports for consolidation by the Group ensuring they comply with the relevant regulations and in accordance to the Group timelines.
·                     Coordinate the Strategic plans and annual plans for the business in liaison with the Head, Investment Banking.
·                     Coordinate audits by internal auditors, external auditors, Capital Markets Authority inspectors, and KRA officials. To follow up all issues raised in audits and inspections reports and resolve them
·                     Ensure compliance with IFRS/IAS, Companies Act, Taxation Act and CMA guidelines.
·                     Ensure all regulatory returns and any other information requested by the regulator is correctly compiled and submitted on time.
·                     Ensure integrity of the general ledger through daily review and analysis and ensure that all Bank accounts and the relevant suspense are reconciled periodically.
·                     To Validate and approve all payments related to the business in line with the laid down authorization limits and timings.
·                     Ensure Continuous monitoring and recovery of current brokerage debtors.
·                     Ensuring that there are adequate internal control procedures to minimize loss of income or misuse of company assets, and that all the set procedures are adhered to.
·                     Manage the completion of all regular daily, weekly, monthly reporting with all associated commentaries including; month end actuals and forecasts/plan, for multiple key stakeholders (incl. Exec Committee, Board, custodians, Fund managers, Regulators; CBK,CMA) Ensure there is integrity of the data and consistency of format prior to delivery to stakeholders.
The Person:

In order to be considered for the above position all applicants should have the following:-
·                     University Degree in a business related field from a recognized university. A Masters in any relevant field will be an added advantage.
·                     The person must be a qualified accountant i.e. must be CPA (K), ACCA Fellow or a CFA Fellow.
·                     At least 4 years management experience in a busy Investment Banking/ Brokerage environment, 3 of which should be in Financial and Management reporting.
·                     Knowledge and hands on experience in Oracle Financials.
·                     Sound knowledge of CMA guidelines and Kenyan Tax laws.
·                     Should have a thorough knowledge of Investment Banking industry practice, products and services.

The EWCA Regional office works with a range of partners across several countries to deliver programming in a number of key areas: HIV/AIDS & health; income security & livelihoods; emergency response & DRR and rights of older people. 
The Regional Office implements several multi country health programmes in the region funded by DFID, SIDA and Irish Aid all focussed around the issue of ensuring quality health care access for older persons. 
The programmes are implemented in countries in the EWCA region (Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania) as well as Southern Africa region (Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe).
The Program Intern would be part of the Nairobi based Awards team led by the Regional Head of Programmes and will play a role in supporting the Awards Manager and Country teams to develop proposals and concept notes. 
You will be responsible for developing specific concepts pieces and proposals for submission to donors and other partners and will also undertake research on donor funding trends and funding alternatives and will share results with Fundraising and Programmes teams to facilitate donor engagement.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant subject and have at least 1 years' experience of working with a non for profit organisation with the ability to write concepts notes and proposals. 
You will also have excellent communications and writing skills. 
Experience in health programmes, practical or academic will be useful and is highly desirable.
