Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Corporation Secretary shall be responsible for developing and implementing all aspects of legal issues at KNLS:-

Duties and Responsibilities:
 
The Corporation Secretary should:-
  • Provide guidance to the Board on their duties and responsibilities and on matters of governance.
  • Assist the Board in carrying out the following:
  1. Board induction and training
  2. Updating the Board and Committee charters
  3. Preparation of Board work plans
  4. Board evaluation
  5. Governance audit
  6. Implementation for the Code of Conduct and Ethics
  • Ensure the timely preparation and circulation of Board and Committee papers
  • Ensure timely circulation of Board and Committee minutes
  • Be the custodian of the seal of the organization and account to the Board for its use
  • Maintain and update the register of conflicts of interest and ensure management of legal risks
  • Ensure that Board members are aware of all relevant laws affecting the organization
  • Liaising with external Lawyers on court cases and offering guidance notes and evidence to support court proceedings
  • Review the legal instruments to comply with the Constitution of Kenya, 2010
  • Facilitate effective communication between the organization and the shareholders
  • Ensure that annual returns are promptly filed with the relevant authorities
Qualifications
 
Applicants should have the following qualifications:
  • Be an advocate of the High Court in good standing
  • Bachelor of Law from a recognized Institution
  • Post graduation Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law
  • Certified Public Secretary of Kenya (CPS (K)
  • Member of LSK in good standing
  • Proven ICT Knowledge
  • Ability to work with others
  • At least five (5) years post qualification experience
  • Be familiar with Government of Kenya’s Operational Procedures

Job Profile: As part of a large HR team this role is the sole HR representative in Africa working in our country office and regularly travelling to provide support in our other African country offices.

Your role: Your key responsibilities in this role will be to partner our leaders and managers, developing their capacity and accompanying them of specific projects.

Data Collection Assistants

Seeking Expressions of Interest for Data Collection Assistance in Somalia
 
International Business and Technical Consultants Inc. (IBTCI) Somalia Program Support Services (SPSS) is seeking expressions of interest from data collection and survey research organizations. 

The selected firm will provide independent collection of data for a final evaluation of a USAID-funded program providing assistance to agriculture and livestock activities in two regions (Middle Shebelle and Lower Shebelle) of the South Central Somalia. 

The award would be for approximately two months, from July to August 2015.
 
The organization will be responsible for conducting the following activities: Collection of data from around 50 extension workers and 700 farmers of Afgoi, Awdhegle and Balad districts in South-Central Somalia on food availability and farmer incomes. 

Approximately 20 focus groups will be held with crop sellers/vendors, veterinary service providers, agro-dealers, milk processors and feed producers.

 
Requirements and selection criteria:
  • The organization must demonstrate relevant technical experience in gathering and analyzing data, especially data based on agricultural programs.
  • The organization must demonstrate the ability to operate in insecure regions of Somalia, including Mogadishu and South Central Somalia.
  • The organization should provide written references from current or previous clients that attest to their competency in the requested services.
