Marketing Officer

Qualifications of the person:  
  • Must have a first degree in marketing from an institution of higher learning and at least one year experience in a busy marketing environment.

Reporting to the Managing Director, some key responsibilities will include;-
  • Accounting; keeping of books
  • Receiving customers at the showroom
  • Receiving and answering phone calls
  • Assisting on responding to customer queries on social media and emails
  • Assists in planning for deliveries
  • Administration function; deliveries, paying bills and on time etc..
  • Supply management eg manage re-order levels
  • Providing a report to management on showroom requirements and or feedback from customers.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years experience in admin/customer care in a busy working environment.
  • Have a minimum of a diploma and or accounts studies in any related field.
  • Have accounting experience for over 9 months.
  • Should have good organization skills and knowledge of relevant software.
  • Should have knowledge of clerical and admin procedure and systems and practices of basic office management.
  • Should possess good communication and problem solving skills.
  • Should be flexible and easily adaptable.

1. Chief Finance Officer / Head, Department of Finance
 
This Office will be responsible to the Clerk for the efficient management of financial services in the Assembly. 
The duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Advising the Clerk on financial and accounting matters
  • Developing and executing financial and accounting management and control systems in line with the Public Finance Management Act, 2012
  • Issuing financial management instructions and maintaining effective internal control systems
  • Coordinating the budget formulation, preparation, execution, accounting and reporting.

  • Have at least 5 years post qualification experience
3. Human Resource Officer/ Head, Department of Human Resources and Administration
 
This Office will be responsible to the Clerk for the efficient management of human resource function and administration. 
The duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Advising the Clerk on human resource and administration matters
  • Establishing human resource systems, structures and procedures
  • Coordinating matters and systems relating to human resource, staffing, deployment and remuneration in the Assembly
  • Providing direction on strategic human resource planning, organization and development
  • Training and capacity development for the Hon. Members of the County Assembly and staff.

4. Procurement Officer
 
This Office will head the Procurement Unit and be responsible to the Clerk for the efficient management of supply chain management services in the Assembly. 
The duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Advising the Clerk on supply chain/procurement matters
  • Establishing, managing and coordinating the procurement systems, structures and procedures in the Assembly
  • Providing guidance on procurement policies and procedures including the implementation of all procurement laws, regulations and policies.
  • Providing overall guidance on contract design and management
  • Providing guidance on the disposal of the assets of the County Assembly
  • Undertaking capacity building in matters of procurement for the staff of the County Assembly.
  • Any other duty as may be assigned by the Clerk

Role: Projects Officer
 
Reports To: Regional Manager – Coast Region
 
Liaises With: All Marie Stopes Kenya Coast Region Departments
 
Duty Station: Kilifi County – Coast Region, with constant travel to the field sites.
 
Salary: 55,000 to 70,000 Gross Pay

Purpose of the role
 
The Project Officer will oversee project implementation activities within two MSK, Kilifi based, and projects and ensure that the overall project objectives are met and set targets realized. 
He/she will be responsible for overall grants monitoring and compliance, ensure regular reporting to MSK and donors is carried out in a timely and qualitative fashion; work with a team of three staff responsible for community led initiatives and service delivery through social franchising, and ensuring adherence to internal and donors’ procedures and guidelines.  
 
Essential Duties
  • Lead the development and implementation of quarterly work plans and spend plans to ensure smooth operation of all project activities.
  • Lead the preparation of all donor reports, including interim and annual, consistent with donor regulations and protocols.
  • Lead the preparation and management of project budgets.
  • Coordinate project implementation, including capacity building initiatives, service delivery, partnership management, demand generation, monitoring and evaluation and private sector engagement.
  • Prepare and coordinate procurement requests for goods and services for the projects.
  • Develop relationships with all critical stakeholders; share relevant information as required, build synergies between activities, partners and different components of the project.
  • Coordinate information sharing across MSK departments and service delivery channels, including outreach, clinics and social franchising.
  • Oversee community mobilization and community led initiatives for the projects and work with the staff members who oversee engagement with community health workers and youth peer educators.
  • Assist in all research and monitoring and evaluation activities for the project, including a baseline survey, operational research, best practices, data collection and coordination and on-going monitoring of project performance.
Key Knowledge, Experience and Competencies
  • Two years NGO experience; experience in SRH would be an added advantage
  • Bachelor’s degree in community development, sociology or health
  • Project management or project coordination experience
  • Excellent time management and task prioritization skills
  • Proven track record of working with communities and understanding the GoK community  strategy
  • Extensive knowledge of ministry of health core functions and systems
  • Ability to work individually and within a team environment
  • Computer software literate
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Kiswahili
  • Experience working at the Coast is a must, familiarity with Kilifi County an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including cultural sensitivity, assertiveness and negotiating skills.
