OGRA Foundation is a tax-exempt Kenyan Non-governmental Organization founded in 2000 as a youth development group.
In 2005 it was elevated to a full-fledged NGO to enable it expand its reach within Nyanza Province. 
Today it is one of Western Kenya’s leading Medical emergency and relief Organization active in 2 counties, namely Kisumu and Homa-bay.

OGRA Foundation is currently looking for able professional to fill the following position in the organization:
 
Laboratory Technologist
 
Overall Job Function:
 
The Laboratory Technologist will provide accurate, timely and cost effective testing of patient samples to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease in compliance and harmony with the quality laboratory system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring all Laboratory equipments are in good condition before starting the day’s work
  • Ensuring availability and optimum utilization of reagents for cost effectiveness
  • Producing timely and accurate in line with laboratory procedures
  • Billing all procedures to capture revenue
  • Documenting all processes and results to ensure availability of supportive information
  • Implementing all set stock control procedures to ensure accountability
  • Ensure Superior Customer Experience to all internal and external clients
  • Maintain positive working relationship with the facility staff and other organisation personnel
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 2 years experience
  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a board recognized institution
  • Registration with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologist and Technicians Board
  • Should be ready and able to work in a rural set up.

Storekeeper
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accuracy between actual stock balance and record in the system
  • Develop, Implement and enhance the stores structures and procedures.
  • Work closely with other department to ensure a smooth flow of Commodities
  • Ensure highest quality while issuing and loading materials in the stores
  • Conducting and preparation of weekly Stock taking, stock reports and reconciliation
  • Preparation of manual receipts & Issue Notes for suppliers and internal departments
  • Keep supervision of all goods been offloaded and dispatched
  • Maintain high level of cleanliness and orderliness in  the stores
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain service level agreements with suppliers of goods and services
  • Ensuring adequate stocks for inventory and operating equipment by properly managing par stocks and re-order levels
  • Ensuring goods and services are procured and are or the highest quality
  • Liaise with departmental heads in ensuring proper stock movements at all times
  • Ensure prompt delivery of materials
  • Undertake monthly stock reconciliations
Job Specification:
  • Diploma in Procurement  or Business studies from a recognized institution
  • At least 3 years’ of relevant working experience in the hotel industry
  • High level of personal integrity
  • Good team leader
  • Organized and a good planner with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent working skills with Microsoft Office and a database package.

NPI-Africa Executive Director Job in Kenya

Executive Director
Nairobi Peace Initiative–Africa (NPI-Africa) is a pan African Resource Organization committed to the promotion of peaceful transformation of conflicts in Africa. 
Its work involves mediation and dialogue facilitation, training and capacity building, healing and reconciliation initiatives. 
Founded in 1984, NPI-Africa also undertakes research and documentation, policy influencing in areas of conflict transformation, and promotes reflection and learning in peace building practice.

We are looking for a strategic thinker with strong leadership and management competencies and a focus for results to fill the position of Executive Director. 
Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will be a key driver of the organization’s overall strategic objectives and your core responsibilities will be to:
  • Provide strategic leadership in developing and implementing NPI-Africa long range strategy and ensure it is achieved;
  • Provide technical input to policy formulation and implementation, and ensure NPI-Africa has the necessary accountability mechanisms;
  • Take a leading role in the development of resourcing strategies that respond to programme and organisation objectives and ensure sustained funding for NPI-Africa;
  • Have oversight of programme development, ensuring NPI-Africa’s activities are in line with its strategic goals, are cutting-edge and adhere to/promote best practice in the field of conflict transformation and peace building.;
  • Have oversight of the budget making process, ensure spending is as per approved budgets; institute policies to minimise exposure to risks, adherence to donor reporting requirements; and ensure regular reporting to the board;
  • Represent NPI-Africa to various authorities, national and international organisations; enhance key networking and partnerships, form alliances with an aim of raising the profile of NPI-Africa ;
  • Provide effective leadership in managing staff, promoting a high performance culture and capacity building to ensure NPI –Africa has a strong talent pool to meet its programme and operational objectives.
Requirements:
  • We wish to discuss this position with highly skilled and motivated professionals who hold a Masters degree in Social Sciences or related discipline; have at least 7 years proven experience in leadership positions in a non-governmental organisation, and in addition possess:
  • Excellent decision making and problem solving skills
  • Experience in change management
  • A strong commitment to the aims, objectives and values of NPI-Africa
  • Sound knowledge in results based management;
  • Experience in conceptualising, implementing and evaluating programmes. Candidates with peace building background are an added advantage.
  • Strong research and advocacy skills;
  • Strong leadership, management and relationship building skills; and
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, reporting and presentation skills.
