Job Description

Brand Manager you will be responsible for developing and executing marketing communication and brand strategies and working closely with international partners. 
Will undertake marketing consumer research, and make recommendations on best market segments to target. 
As some of the portfolio will be international products, brand manager will also be involved in localizing communication strategies and packaging of products.

The incumbent will be responsible for developing and executing brand, sales and marketing strategies aligned with business plans to obtain overall organisational objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Leading the strategic planning process for the assigned brands based on key consumer insights to enhance current portfolio and improve communication with consumers.
  • Involvement in the development of the company’s long term planning that identifies new business opportunities, markets and partners.
  • Working closely with distribution partners and Marketing Research companies to obtain relevant information, including the development and implementation of brand audit studies and focus groups.
  • Monitoring and analyzing business performance vis-à-vis business goals (awareness, share, consumer diagnostics, profitability, etc.) and the competition.
  • Implementing the marketing plans by working with internal and external suppliers to deliver in a timely manner and on budget.
  • Coordinating the development of communication materials such as catalogues websites, brochures, packaging and in-store displays.
  • Traveling internally and internationally to ensure the relationship with distributors and suppliers is maintained.
  • Delivering internal and external presentations regarding new product introductions, marketing materials, business objective and communication strategy.
  • Establishing performance specifications, cost and price parameters, market applications and sales estimates.
  • Coordinating regular meetings and preparing regular reports outlining the brands’ performance.
  • Managing the status of projects, product testing and the evaluation of external agencies.
  • Develop action plans and measurement tools for brand campaigns
  • Provide support in development of annual Marketing Plans as well as the brand plan calendar
  • Evaluate market data related to the brand objectives communications and action recommendations
  • Utilize trend analysis and other tools to identify and explore possible opportunities for growth.
  • Liaise with operations managers, vendors and Marketing team with regards to execution of Brand campaigns incl. but not limited to TV/Radio adverts, leaflets
  • Apply knowledge of the organisational systems, structures, policies and procedures to achieve strategic objectives
Skills:
  • 7 years Brand Manager experience in FMCG essential, with a strong preference for food experience
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen

Job Summary:
 
The position reports to the Managing Director and is responsible for ensuring that the organisation’s financial resources are prudently managed.  
The position reports to the Managing Director and supervises the Accountant and Administration staff.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Sound financial management - Responsible for the overall good maintenance of accounting books and systems. Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies as well as statutory financial requirements. Prepare monthly and annual financial reports. Custodian of financial policies and procedures. Responsible for payables and receivables.
  • Cash-flow management - In consultation with the Managing Director, maintain and operate bank accounts of the organization. Manage Cash flow. Prepare bank reconciliation statements to keep track of balances.
  • Budgets & financial forecast - In consultation with the Managing Director and heads of departments, prepare financial forecasts including Annual budget for the organization
  • Administration & logistics - Responsible for the design of procurement policies and procedures as well as their enforcement.

Position:  Finance Officer

Department: Finance & Admin

The Finance Officer supports the finance and administration department in successfully implementing its goals. 
The Finance Officer in cooperation with the Team Coordinator Finance is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting in line with DSW regulations and policies as well as with national financial laws. 

General areas of responsibility:
  • Responsible for  book-keeping (cash and bank books), payments and all financial documentation
  • Support the Team Coordinator, Finance with the preparation of financial reports and audits
  • Support the ITM or National Department Manager in preparing strategic  recommendations
  • Support the National Department Manager in preparing regular reports according to DSW guidelines and procedures
  • Review and monitor partners financial reporting and compliance with DSW and or donors regulations
  • Preparation of Pay Roll and follow up on social security regulations
Specific Tasks:
  • Assist to compile and analyze financial information to prepare timely monthly, quarterly  financial statements including year end close and annual accounts
  • Assist in development, maintain and analyze budgets, preparing period reports that compare budgeted costs and actual cost.
  • Assist in financial audit preparation and coordinate the audit process.
  • Reconcile multicurrency - cashbook with bank statements and checking balances against verifiable documents on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare cheque payments and ensure that payments are made against verifiable accounting documents.
  • Ensure accurate and timely posting of data into the accounting system - SUN Ledger i.e. payments, various journals types and receipts.
  • Develop, implement, modify and document record keeping and accounting systems making use of current computer technology of all financial transactions in accordance with the accounting procedures.
  • Follow up on reimbursements and surrender of imprest as per approved procedures.
  • Ensure all Donors and partners’ financial reporting requirement and deadlines are adhered to.
  • Prepare monthly revenue, expenditure returns, financial statements and reports.
  • Provide support to monthly standard accounting submissions to HO including general ledger files, account reconciliations, expenditure by cost center/project, required sub-grantee reporting, as well as other financial information on a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review and monitor partners financial reporting and compliance.
  • Liaising with project team, prepare finance requests as per budgets and also follow up on reimbursements and surrender of imprest as per approved procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with DSW procurement policies and procedures for all goods and services.
  • Withholding and remittance of statutory deductions e.g. PAYE, NHIF , NSSF & DIT,
  • Participate in the internal audit reviews as required in accordance with the audit plan through provision of the required information.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Minimum requirements:
  • A Bachelors degree from a recognized university majoring in Finance or Accounting with a professional accounting qualification such as CPA (K) or ACCA or equivalent.  A Masters degree will be an advantage.
  • 5 years progressive working experience working in a similar position in an international organization, INGO and or institutional donor funded environments
  • Working knowledge of integrated accounting packages; experience with SUN accounting software is of particular interest to us
  • Excellent technical accounting and analytical skills, computer (MS Office) skills
  • Proactive hands-on person with the ability to think strategically as well as identify and implement practical actions to a high standard
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal and team working skills, working language is English.
  • Proven project management skills
  • Proven donor finance management skills
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • High level of integrity and diplomacy
