Manager - Furniture Designer

A middle level furniture & fittings Manufacturing Company is seeking for a person to fill the above mentioned position

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and quote for all kinds of furniture and fittings
  • Directly co-ordinate the operations and overall responsibilities related to designing, quotation, Production and delivery of finished products.
  • Implementation of the designs to customer’s satisfaction.
  • Implementation of the negotiated contracts between company and the clients.
  • Ensure there is effective communication between the company and the stake holders.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. A Bachelors Degree in related field or Equivalent, Interior design Degree will be an added advantage.
  2. Minimum Five years Experience in a similar position.
  3. Proven good management and leadership skills.
  4. Must be a computer literate and able to use auto card software and other design related programmes.

The successful candidates will be responsible for;
  • implementation of promotions by the company,
  • providing marketing tracking and research information
  • listening to customer requirements and presenting appropriately to make a sale;
  • maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers in person and via telephone calls and emails;
  • cold calling to arrange meetings with potential customers to prospect for new business;
  • acting as a contact between a company and its existing and potential markets;
  • negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales;
  • gathering market and customer information;.
This position requires an individual with good communication skill; interpersonal skills high confidence levels and takes initiative.

Qualifications:
  • Sales and Marketing or a business related field education background
  • 2-3 years marketing experience in the motor industry added advantage but NOT a requirement

Overall Purpose of the Job

To develop a filling System, maintain and protect the files of the organization. 
He or she is typically responsible for managing all paperwork that needs to be retained

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain an organized filling system.
  • Code files for proper placement and retrieve files as necessary.
  • Ensure files are accessible; the room is well lit and neat.
  • Purge old files and ensure no materials in file are lost
  • Create new entries as needed.
  • Fax and photocopy files.
  • Process and scan files to be entered into computer in digital database.
  • Maintain a file room logs that track the location of files throughout the company and dispose of files in accordance with established document retention schedules.
  • Prepare records for off-site storage.
  • Stamp files and materials received while keeping a computerized log in.
Job Requirements:
  • Diploma in Records management or related disciplines.
  • Candidate must posses’ knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Must have at least 1‐2 year’s experience.
  • Knowledge in insurance is an added advantage.

UI / Web Designer

The UI / Web Designer works on various projects to build prototype user interface designs for usability testing, client review and sales demonstrations, as well as serve as a knowledge resource for the latest trends and technologies for web- and standards-based user interface development. 
You will work to actively assist in improving the usability, usefulness, and desirability of applications in collaboration with Managers, Development teams and Sales Consultants.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with usability team members, product managers, development teams and other internal stakeholders to build storyboards, proof-of-concept mockups, demos and prototypes of proposed and  planned applications and features.
  • Collaborate in the definition of user interface design standards for applications, to optimize ease-of-use and achieve an integrated and consistent look and feel.
  • Conduct ongoing research of web-based user interface development best practices.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of web standards and technologies, including: CSS, HTML, JavaScript
  • Knowledge of usability and coding practices for accessibility
  • Strong web graphics production capability
  • Creative approach to problem solving, innovation and issue resolution
  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate actively and proactively with others in a cross-functional team
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, verbally and as a presenter
  • Self-motivated and self-managed with a high degree of analytical ability and intellectual curiosity
  • Strong attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering highly-polished web-based prototypes under tight time constraints
