Role Purpose:
 
The Padiatric counselor is responsible for field level implementation, inter-camp coordination and monitoring and evaluation of activities as well as providing leadership and guidance to Child Protection community workers. 
Provides direct counseling services for children indentified/refered by BID and/or other partners, deliver capacity building training for incentive workers and programme staff and staff from partner agencies.

Dimensions: Save the Children has supported children in Kenya since before it’s Independence in 1963 and has had a consistent operational presence in the country since 1984. 
We provide support to children through developmental and humanitarian relief programmes delivered both directly and through local partners. 
Current programming focuses on child protection, child rights governance, education, health, HIV/AIDS, livelihoods, nutrition and WASH. 
Save the Children has an operational presence in Dadaab Refugee Camp, Eldoret, Habaswein, Mandera, Meru and Wajir and has a liaison post in Garissa. 
Currently, we have a staff complement of approximately 350 staff and a confirmed budget of approximately US$15 million this year.

Key Areas of Accountability:
  • The Child protection Peadiatric Counselor will assist the Child Protection Programme Manager in the overall management of the UNHCR/PEPFAR project for orphaned and vulnerable children in the field offices and refugee camps and the immediate host communities.
  • Facilitate and coordinate direct professional counseling services for orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC) including children and young people affected by HIV/AIDS.
  • Support the development and implementation of a programme of training and capacity building for Child Protection Community workers (CPWs) and CPOs, ensuring that training needs are proactively assessed and built with-in ongoing design.
  • Provide relevant inputs for the development of pediatric HIV/AIDS programme strategy and operational plans in close collaboration with the Child Protection Manager.
  • Document programme learning, ensuring it contributes to organisational advocacy.
  • Participate in the development of emergency strategies for the wider child protection programme in Kenya.
  • Comply with all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures with respect to child protection, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies.
  • Preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly and annual reports in relation to peadiatric HIV/AIDS counseling services, community based psychosocial support and capacity building initiatives.
  • Conduct debriefing sessions in the occurrence of a critical incidence
  • Conduct/ensure regular follow-up visits to monitor the rehabilitation and reintegration of clients, and document changes identified.
  • Conduct community sensitization campaigns on services available at the Child Friendly spaces and the general refugee operations.
  • Maintain an up to date database on counseling clients.
  • Ensure timely implementation of budgeted activities in addition to budget tracking and control.
  • Ensure strong links with the overall child protection work that SC is undertaking in the refugee camps.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Good communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili
  • Graduate degree in Psychology, social work  / social sciences or equivalent with preferably 1 year work experience in  counseling, social work or with development-related organisations
  • Knowledge of community based child protection approaches, preferably including experience in participatory approaches (PRA/PLA) and child participation methodologies.
  • Good IT skills including the use of Word and database software
  • Demonstrable ability to adapt to changing programme priorities and emergency priorities that may arise
  • Strong self-starter, able to take initiative and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
  • Positive attitude towards community work with emphasis on the ability to learn from communities and support innovative approaches to problem solving

Key Duties and Responsibilities.
 
Major responsibility:
  • Test and launch VOICE, CAMEL, GPRS (Inbound and Outbound Roaming).
  • Technical implementation for roaming partners’ data in MSC, HLR IN, GPRS nodes.
  • Work closely with TADIG team for validation of IREG tests.
  • Technical Fault Resolution (including technical support for live services/partners).
  • New Services Testing.
Main Duties
  • IREG Testing with new Roaming Partners (IR24, IR32 IR35, IR50).
  • Implement in MSS, IN, for new Roaming Partner data as well as IR.21 updates of existing Roaming relationships.
  • Testing of Roaming VAS.
  • To tackle all roaming related technical problems. 
  • Troubleshooting and resolution of any Roaming issues. 
  • Responsible for resolving all IR issues.
  • Interact with Signaling provider, Intl carrier and roaming partner for resolution of LU and call connectivity issues. 
  • Ability to take SS7 and ISUP traces, analyze the data to identify and resolve any issues
  • Escalate issues to RP Network Engineering.
  • Coordinate IREG Activities with our RP teams (including Tests scheduling and SIM exchange).
Academic/ Professional Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Core Network.
  • Excellent knowledge of CAMEL issues and resolution.
  • Strong knowledge of Core Network Management and design.
  • Proficiency in the use of the protocol analyzer (K12, K15)
  • Good knowledge of SS7 protocols (ISUP, CAP, MAP, SIGTRAN etc)
  • Project coordination experience

AWF is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to support its treasury operations.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Finance Officer-Treasury, the successful candidate will assist the team in handling daily administrative and routine tasks that require urgent action, constant consultations and frequent follow-ups. 
Operationally this will entail managing manual and electronic documents repository, scanning documentation and maintaining electronic logical coding, indexing and references, filing and archiving all financial documents per established systems, managing travel advances, processing advance requests/reimbursement, disbursing cash, reviewing advances retirements and generating credit memos. 
The incumbent will also reconcile employee vendor cards and travel advance holding account on regular basis, apply open vendor ledger entries, perform monthly customer circularization, administer petty cash float, initiate top-ups, organize petty cash hours, process cash payments, maintain optimal cash balances, ensure established cash limits are observed, perform petty cash reconciliation for monthly close, review and post all invoices from Purchase Orders as generated by Procurement team and ensure correct amount, date, GL account and appropriate descriptions, input, submit all direct invoices and follow up on outstanding approvals in the system, write and dispatch manual checks and post the check payments to cash book. 
S/he will organize deposits to appropriate AWF bank accounts for all cash and checks received in HQ, ensure all bank instruction letters are promptly delivered to the bank and assist supervisor to perform supplier statement reconciliations and attend to vendor queries. 
This position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
