Accounts Assistant

2 Positions

Key Responsibilities to this Position

  • Cash handling (Teller) 
  • Processing payments
  • Processing cheques for banking 
  • Monthly Bank Reconciliations and all other reconciliations
  • Updating Members personal Accounts
  • Verification of loan application forms
  • Loan appraisals
  • Generating loan reports
  • Defaulters notification & recovery of defaulted loans
  • Attending to Members queries 

Minimum Qualifications and Attributes

  • CPA II, ACCA Level II
  • Certificate of good conduct
  • 3 years experience at the same level in a financial institution
  • Good analytical, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • High degree of integrity
  • Track record of good management and development skills
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting systems

Personal Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer

1 Position

Key Responsibilities to this Position   

  • Provide administrative and secretarial support to The CEO and Board of Directors
  • CEOs office Reception and Telephone operations
  • Maintain and organize files and  documents
  • Ensuring that the office is organized and that there is supplies and equipment
  • Arranging meetings
  • Maintain diary and calendar of events for CEO and office staff as required
  • Prepare correspondence and other documents as required
  • Manage the office and handle all enquiries

Minimum Qualifications and Attributes

  • Have a Diploma in Business and Office management or Secretarial Studies, a degree will be an added advantage 
  • Certificate of Good Conduct 
  • 3 years relevant experience
  • Excellent communications skills both written and oral 
  • Proficient knowledge in computer and typing skills  
  • Good records management 
  • Have good working knowledge of business principles and customer service

Receptionist / Secretary

Job Responsibilities:

Ensure the office is clean and tidy at all times;

Act as a first contact and receive, assist and direct organizational visitors/members to the respective officers;

Screen emails/telephone calls, enquiries and requests and provide answers or forward them to right officers for action.

Receive, record and forward mails as directed by the management;

Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness;

Receive loan application forms, assign them loan numbers register them in the loan register and forward them for action.

Scrutinize and register new members’ enrolments forms.

Offering administrative support to other departments.

Filing and maintaining the filing system of the board minutes, staff minutes and the general correspondences.

Drafting effective correspondence as and when required;

Ensuring that outgoing mails and allotments are registered and dispatched in time

Assist in any other duties that may be assigned.

Qualification:

  • Minimum ‘O’ level – C+ (plus) or Division II
  • Diploma from recognized institution in Front Office or Office Practice and Procedures or Secretarial.
  • Good knowledge of computer; knowledge of MS Office is added advantage.
  • Experience in similar position is desired.

Recruitment of a Policy Research and Advocacy Officer

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Policy Research and Advocacy Officer is responsible for undertaking policy research used in advocating and lobbying to various authorities areas that impacting on survey profession. 

The Officer also assists the CEO in developing project proposals and running projects.

Contract Duration: 2 years with a 3 month probation period. 

Contract is renewable based on performance and availability of funding.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Identifying, prioritising, and developing policy positions on all areas that relate directly or indirectly to the survey profession;
  • Identifying and advocating for the inclusion of ISK member interests when new policies/legislations are being developed;
  • Supporting the finalization of ISK Statutes and pursuing enactment;
  • Initiating, planning, implementing, evaluating and supporting research activities of the Institution;
  • Preparing research reports and coordinating the publishing of research findings;
  • Collecting and analyzing data for purposes of providing market intelligence to the members;
  • Procuring research consultancies in relevant areas and ensuring they are delivered in the stipulated time and as the specifications;
  • Developing proposals for donor support and partnerships and recommending appropriate action(s) in line with ISK’s policies;
  • Assisting the CEO manage various projects;
  • Performing any other lawful duties as may be assigned.

Job Specifications

Qualifications:

  • A Degree in Land Economics, Land Surveying, Political Science, Economics, Social Sciences or related field from a recognized university;
  • IT proficiency in use of MS Word, Excel, Access, Power-point, and e-mail; and
  • Four years experience in conducting research for policy and advocacy.

Key competencies:

  • In-depth understanding of policy and advocacy issues at national level;
  • Public speaking and making presentations on policy issues to decision-makers;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to develop and implement advocacy and communications strategies.; and
  • Effective organizing and planning skills.
