Sector Head, Reproductive  Health
Kakuma Refugee Camp, Turkana County (REF: FORH - KRC)

Reporting to the Camp Coordinator, this position is responsible for identifying needs and gaps of high risk and vulnerable groups at Kakuma Refugee Camp in the areas of HIV and AIDS and Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health and developing appropriate remedial projects. 
The incumbent will also conduct peer leadership training and follow up. 
The holder will work in close collaboration with other UN implementing partners on matters pertaining to these groups in the Camp. This is a non accompanied posting.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse with HIV and AIDS or PMTCT or VCT counseling skills
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing will be an added advantage
  • 3 years relevant experience in refugee operations

Reporting to the Regional Coordinator, this position will be involved in the implementation of the Council’s corporate plan within the Region and will involve extensive travel within the Region.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences or a related field
  • 2 years’ post qualification experience in social science related work.

Reporting to the Sector Head (Peace Education) this position  is responsible for facilitating peace education, conflict prevention and resolution activities for various community groups in the Camp.

The position involves making recommendations to the Supervisor on issues relating to their area of work.

This is a residential non-accompanied posting.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences or Education or  equivalent
  • 3 years relevant experience in refugee operations.

This position reports to the Sector Head, Reproductive Health and is responsible for facilitating implementation of a youth program (Healthy Choices) in the area of HIV/AIDS in the Camp.

This is a residential non-accompanied posting.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Social Science
  • 2 years experience in refugee operations

Reporting to the Camp Accountant, this position is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records and ensuring compliance with established internal controls.

The position involves making recommendations to the Accountant on  issues related to accounting.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE)
  • CPA II
  • One year experience in a similar position.

  • Working knowledge of commonly used accounting packages

Finance Manager

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the coordination of financial activities of a multi-project program in diverse locations in Nairobi and Central Kenya.
The successful applicant will, among other responsibilities,
  • Supervise and coordinate the provision of all financial support to the project, ensuring that appropriate controls and reporting structures are maintained in accordance with Grantee and Donor rules and regulations.
  • Advise the PI/PD on all financial matters, particularly enhancing internal control and risk management mechanisms to minimize inherent operational risks

  • Supervise sub-contract and field accountants.

Professional accounting qualifications, CPA (K) or ACCA, will be mandatory. 
Prior experience in audit and knowledge of GOK and USG financial rules and procedures will be strongly desired. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) programs and major accounting software systems (ERP) is desired.
