Principle Responsibilities & Position Purpose: 
The Chief Engineer is responsible for the management of activities within the engineering department, ensuring the standards and objectives of the department are implemented and maintained in equipment operations, staff management and product quality to meet and exceed guest expectations.

Essential Functions:

Specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
  • Direct the implementation of an effective Trouble Report System, together with other day-to-day work of general maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensuring effective work control and productivity measures are maintained while reducing overall costs.
  • Assists in assessing the long-term requirements of the hotel e.g. overhaul/rehabilitation programs or renewal/replacement works, etc.
  • Assist in the implementation of all company statutory and legal requirements including Fire, Health and Safety, Hygiene, and all local by laws.
  • Maintain high standards of day to day repairs, through prompt attention to emergencies and fault requests.
  • With the assistance of the Human Resources Manager, source and select engineers for employment.
  • Ensure that regular site inspections and condition surveys are carried out.
  • Manage staff performance in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Qualification Standards:
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized University.
  • Experience in electrical and/or mechanical systems is essential.
  • Minimum of 4 years as the head of a busy engineering department with a total of 7 years experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems.
  • Must be conversant with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 2007.
  • Candidates with experience in Hospitality industry will hold an added advantage.

Overall Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager:
  • Effectively manage the dispensing of all drugs and other commodities
  • Check and advice on the expiry of the drugs and disposal of the same.
  • Ensure proper management of Pharmacy Records.
  • Ensure effective stock controls.
  • Prepare Comprehensive Monthly report to the Management.
  • Perform any other duties which may be assigned by Management from time to time.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Certificate in Pharmaceutical Technology
  • Valid registration license (awaiting registration) by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board
  • At least one year working experience in a busy pharmacy.
  • Knowledge in sales and marketing and/or accounting will be an added advantage

KNCHR - Commission Secretary

The Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) is an independent National Human Rights Institution established by the Government of Kenya through an Act of Parliament (the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights Act 2011) and under the United Nations Paris Principles, It is a constitutional commission created by Article 59 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 with the core mandate of furthering the protection and promotion of human rights in Kenya. 
The Commission acts as a watchdog over the Government in the area of human rights, and provides leadership in moving the country towards a human rights state.
 
The Commission hereby invites applications for the position of Commission Secretary:

Location: Head Office
 
Duration: 5 years term and shall be eligible for a further term of five years
 
Salary Range (Gross): Kshs 464,240 — Kshs 673,880

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Chief Executive and head of secretariat.
  • Coordinating and supervising the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Commission’s programmatic, financial and institutional plans.
  • Enhancing good communication and harmony among the staff, the Commissioners and other stakeholders, including members of the public, government and other public institutions, civil society and international community actors.
  • Undertaking transparent, effective and efficient management of personnel including continuous improvement in human resource management policies and systems.
  • Ensuring that internal and external audits are carried out and issues are addressed on a timely manner, and ensuring that statutory and related legal requirements are adhered to.
  • Performing any other duty as assigned by the Commission.
Minimum Requirements
  • Be a Citizen of The Republic of Kenya
  • Minimum of a Masters Degree in Social Sciences from a university recognized in Kenya.
  • PhD and post graduate qualification in Strategic and project Management, planning, proposal writing, leadership/Administration, governance and human Rights will be an added advantage.
  • Fifteen years work Experience with at least five years at top/senior level management position.
  • Prior extensive experience in Public Administration.
  • Meets the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution.

  • Demonstrable financial management, planning and budgeting skills.
