Progamme Manager


Job Title: Progamme Manager

Division / Department / Section / Unit: Programme / Projects

Position Responsible To: Executive Director

Position Reporting to the Programme Manager: Coordinators           

Overall Responsibility: Oversight of the programme activities and the continuous development and implementation of projects that will promote the strategic plan. 

Objectives:
  • Effective and efficient management of programmes and projects
  • Enhanced capacity of peace building in strategic actors
  • Timely development of programme/project proposals
  • Promotion of positive image of the company
  • Timely preparation of accurate reports
Key Tasks:
  • Coordinating and directing programmes and projects activities as per the organization’s policies
  • Designing and developing projects and programmes proposals and looking for financier as per the organization’s policies and procedures
  • Participating in enhancing the capacity of strategic actors in conflict transformation and peace building.
  • Facilitating in workshops and projects as and when required
  • Carrying out mediation and negotiations functions in peace building in identified communities and as per the organization’s policies
  • Providing advisory services on peace building issues as and when required
  • Liaising with other institutions in Non-Governmental organizations and Government communities on issues concerning peace building in affected communities
  • Preparing timely and accurate report and circulating to appropriate users
  • Promoting positive image of the organisation at all time
  • Preparing budgets and ensuring proper control
  • Supervising, appraising staff and identifying their training needs
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Educational Qualifications: MA in Peace Studies/ Administration/or Political Science

Professional Qualifications: Diploma in Community Development/mediation or project management

Working Experience:
5 Years in Non Governmental organization working environment

The suitable candidate will be a Certified Public Accountant with a minimum of 4 years finance experience.  
He/she will be in charge of all administrative and finance duties, ensuring that all Merlin finance policies and procedures are adhered to; and should have excellent managerial, leadership and grant management skills.

Experience in working for an International NGO will be an added advantage.
