Our client, a multinational manufacturing firm in the packaging industry is seeking to recruit a Sales Representative. 
The successful candidate will be in charge of handling and growing the business towards achieving projected revenue generation targets.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Build and manage a sales force and distribution network capable of marketing and selling the company full product line in the market.
  • Grow product sales for the company and hit high volume targets
  • Engage a range of distribution partners, including multi-national corporations and regional distributors.
  • Assist in negotiating pricing, terms and conditions with distributors
  • Measure the sales progress against leading indicators
  • Forecast sales volumes, profit margins, and net profit and achieve clearly defined, mutually agreed upon revenue/gross profit targets
  • Deliver innovative business models, branding, and marketing approaches
  • Work closely with the company’s manufacturing and design teams to consistently improve their product line.
  • Generate sales leads and secure new business by maintaining relationships with existing and potential customers to capitalize on new business opportunities and achieve long-term ‘customer satisfaction’.
Qualification and Experience
  • At least a Diploma in Sales and Marketing or any other business related  field
  • Should have minimum of 3 to 5 years of field experience.
  • Candidates with previous technical sales experience will have an added advantage.
  • Possess selling experience from Packaging Industries, Industrial Equipments / consumables
  • Should be proactive, independent, aggressive and passionate about the client business
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Creative, professional, strong leadership and communication skills.

Background

The establishment of the CSDG-Facility was the culmination of a number of processes within the democratic governance sector. 
It was also an acknowledgement of the crucial role that civil society is able to play in those processes. 
The Amkeni Wakenya Civil Society Democratic Governance Facility (“Amkeni Wakenya” or “The Facility”) is an initiative established by development partners including The Royal Netherlands Embassy, The Embassy of Sweden, the Embassy of Japan, The European Union, Royal Norwegian Embassy (Norway) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The Facility was set up to provide co-ordinated and harmonized support to civil society organizations (CSOs) in the democratic governance sector in Kenya to participate more effectively in democratization processes in Kenya. 
The move to establish Amkeni Wakenya was a culmination of various efforts and discussions involving CSOs, the private sector, government departments and development partners over a span of years that aspired to strengthen civil society to be able to perform its roles of informing, educating and mobilising citizens to participate actively in reforms and checking government policies and practices more effectively and contribute to deepening democracy in Kenya.

To achieve the above objectives and strategic outcomes, Amkeni Wakenya utilizes three (3) programme delivery methodologies: Grant Making, Capacity Building, and Learning and Knowledge Management. 
Under Amkeni Wakenya’s Strategic Plan for 2011-2015, the facility focuses on four (4) strategic outcomes:

Background

One of the five priority areas of focus under the GoK/UNDP Country Programme 2009-2013 is Fostering Democratic Governance. 
Under this programme area, UNDP seeks to strengthen the national capacity towards progressive and accelerated realization of human rights and deepened democratic governance. 
UNDP works closely with both governmental and non-state actors in this regard. 
Particular emphasis is placed on gender equality and women’s empowerment. 
The programme also contributes to a process which builds a culture of respect and promotes progressive realization of citizen-centred reforms in the public sector and decentralised public service delivery.

Furthermore, this component will also promote accountable and participatory development programming, policy formulation and implementation at the national and local levels. 
The values that underpin this work include respect for the rule of law, citizens’ rights and responsibilities, gender equality, access to justice and respect for human rights.

On safeguarding human rights, UNDP assistance aims to deliver essential outputs, including capacity building and institutional strengthening of State and non-State institutions, including civil society organisations to effectively implement and monitor the implementation of international and regional human rights instruments and support the push for the ratification of key human rights instruments. 
Underpinning this work are the principles of inclusivity and effective participation of marginalised groups, including women, youth and persons with disabilities.
