Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated capabilities in either or both areas of Human Resources and Social and Community work, focused on case management, life-coaching, strategic employer relations and Job Development.

The CDC will be responsible for counseling clients in different programs. 
They will assist in the development and implementation of a Work Employment Action Plan for the clients using a case management model. 
The CDC will also consult with and provide documentation and support to referral sources and other members of the multi-disciplinary team. 
In addition, they will prepare clients for employment through the facilitation of workshops, and the outreach and sourcing of potential employers to secure employment opportunities.

The successful candidate will have a proven record of marketing strategies to attract employers as well as job coaching skills for their client base.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conducts an employment assessment with each client including needs and risk assessment, an implementation plan, and follow-up as it relates to employment goals
  • Consult with employers to promote Goodwill’s transitional employment program and to find employment, placement and training opportunities that exist within a given organization
  • Continually monitors trends in the workplace
  • Aid clients in the development of appropriate work habits, behaviors, and attitudes suitable for the workplace
  • Continuous research and outreach to employers and community organizations
  • Ensures that employer contracts and employee training development plans are established
  • Assist with pre-employment and job maintenance issues such as interview preparation and conflict resolution in the workplace
  • Determine and assess clients who require job coaching and or continuous support throughout their employment in the broader labour market
  • Facilitates, develops, and evaluates group/individual training regarding pre-employment and job maintenance issues. Provides quality assurance regarding assigned tasks to ensure compliance with program standards

  • Provides documentation and maintains confidential data, in accordance with the Laws of Kenya
  • Participates in the compilation of internal and external reports and statistical data
  • Models appropriate behaviours to staff in line with our Mission, Vision, and Values; establishes rapport and maintains effective relationship building behaviours with staff and clients.
Represents Janta in a professional manner

Qualifications:
  • Post Secondary diploma or degree in Social Work, Human Resources, Education, Adult Education, Psychology, Career & Work Counseling, or a related discipline, coupled with a minimum of two years related experience including sales/marketing, file management, recruitment and job coaching
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
  • Well developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; with the ability to establish rapport with Janta participants, employers, staff and volunteers
  • Varied and relevant work experience and knowledge of community resources, labor market and employment services to individuals facing employment barriers
  • Experience in instructing or workshop delivery in an adult educational environment
  • Flexibility regarding assigned work hours and location
  • Must be a results-oriented individual with the ability to motivate and inspire self and others

Reporting to the Senior Regional Network Maintenance Manager, Eastern the holder of the position will maintain the BSS network, perform system upgrades and implement proposed solutions to solve BSS related quality issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curative and preventive Maintenance of  GSM  networks, PDH and SDH transmission equipment;
  • Curative and preventive maintenance of related power supply systems in allocated sites;
  • Analyze key performance indicators to identify root cause of network malfunction issues;
  • Propose solutions to address quality problems, and follow up with relevant departments until resolution.
Minimum Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in either Electrical, Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent from a reputable institution;
  • 1 year telecommunications experience in GSM related field;
  • Must be able to work without supervision and meet tight deadlines/schedules;
  • Analytical, problem solving skills;
  • Proactive & self-motivated;
  • 1 year valid Driving License.

Senior Engineer - Transmission Configuration & Support

Reporting to the Senior Manager: Configuration & Support, the position holder will be responsible for 
  • Troubleshooting and Resolution of faults & failures in the access transmission network;  
  • Providing technical assistance to field engineer in fault resolution process; 
  • Providing long term transmission system configuration and support ; 
  • Providing second line to transmission system faults escalated from first line maintenance; 
  • Follow up with the vendors of the transmission equipment for resolution of escalated faults; 
  • Perform transmission upgrades and major network configuration changes and developing tools for automation and speed up the support processes
The job holder’s key responsibilities will be to:
  • Maintain high transmission systems availability to support customer traffic
  • Ensuring transmission operational availability to support customer traffic and better user experience
  • Resolution of faults escalated from 1st Line maintenance teams within SLAs.
  • Ensuring all newly integrated equipment follow & adhere to the laid down acceptance criteria
  • Perform configuration and cross-connection changes on Network elements & S/W upgrades to meet network KPIs
  • Analyze network KPIs, logs and warnings and initiate corrective measures to resolve complaints and faults.
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills & competencies:
  • University degree in Electrical &  Communications/Electronics engineering;
  • 3 years working experience in Telecommunications with at least 2 years experience with a busy mobile Operator;
  • Good working practical knowledge & understanding of transmission systems (TDM, Hybrid & IP).
  • Good working knowledge of UNIX, Linux, Windows, Oracle and SQL based database systems.
  • Solid understanding in IP with  an industry certification
  • Project Management certification will be an added advantage
  • Good working   knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Analytical & problem solving skills when handling faults.
  • Must be able to work without supervision & meet tight deadlines/schedules.
  • Presentation skills required occasionally when initiating the use of new procedures & long-term Network fault solutions. 
  • Proactive & self-motivated
  • Good public relations, communication & interpersonal skills when coordinating with contractor /other departments & suppliers.

The job holder’s key responsibilities will be to:
  • Ensure that all infrastructure and related applications are designed, implemented and managed to meet the business’ requirements;
  • Develop and manage a team to provide timely and comprehensive support to internal business users on issues relating to  infrastructure and related applications;
  • Participate in troubleshooting, capacity planning and analysis, performance analysis activities;
  • Regularly develop and review infrastructure, application, people and financial plans in line with Divisional and Company objectives;
  • Development and analysis of relevant management reports on various key aspects of the section’s responsibilities;
  • Team Management, Recruitment, Training, and Development of key senior staff to fully realize potential;
  • Drive attainment of efficiencies through innovation, automation of processes/activities.
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills & competencies:
  • Degree in Electrical Eng/Computer Science/Information Technology Management;
  • Deep knowledge of Software, Hardware, Systems Administration, Network Technology, Information Security, Vmware, Operating systems, Databases, Telecommunications Management Project Management, and Finance;
  • 10 years experience in IT Services and Network Management at least 4 years of which should be in a senior leadership position;
  • Deep knowledge of cloud computing services;
  • Hands on operational experience in a high-volume or critical production service environment
  • Good communication skills  and customer focus;
  • Project management and Report writing skills;
  • ITIL v3;
  • Good management and leadership skills;
