Senior Manager-Systems & Cloud Computing Support

Reporting to the HOD, IS Operations, the position holder will  be responsible for the design, implementation and management of business support IT infrastructure including the data centers, servers, storage area networks, backup/restore environments and Cloud Computing Infrastructure. 

Also responsible for providing technical support to internal business users as well as corporate customers who have IT solutions.

The job holder’s key responsibilities will be to:

• Ensure that all infrastructure and related applications are designed, implemented and managed to meet the business’ requirements;
• Develop and manage a team to provide timely and comprehensive support to internal business users on issues relating to  infrastructure and related applications;
• Participate in troubleshooting, capacity planning and analysis, performance analysis activities;
• Regularly develop and review infrastructure, application, people and financial plans in line with Divisional and Company objectives;
• Development and analysis of relevant management reports on various key aspects of the section’s responsibilities;
• Team Management, Recruitment, Training, and Development of key senior staff to fully realize potential;
• Drive attainment of efficiencies through innovation, automation of processes/activities.

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills & competencies:

• Degree in Electrical Eng/Computer Science/Information Technology Management;
• Deep knowledge of Software, Hardware, Systems Administration, Network Technology, Information Security, Vmware, Operating systems, Databases, Telecommunications Management Project Management, and Finance;
• 10 years experience in IT Services and Network Management at least 4 years of which should be in a senior leadership position;
• Deep knowledge of cloud computing services;
• Hands on operational experience in a high-volume or critical production service environment
• Good communication skills  and customer focus;
• Project management and Report writing skills;
• ITIL v3;
• Good management and leadership skills;
• Analytical Thinking;
• Follow-ups monitoring;
• Customer focus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist to develop web-based applications using a mix of technologies
• Assist to develop web-based mapping applications using Google Maps and/or Flash
• Assist in the maintenance of the FSNAU website
• Assist in the update of online FSNAU databases
• Assist in the creation of e-forms to be used for data collection in the field assessments
• Any other work as may be assigned by the supervisor

Education and Experience:

• Experience in developing using PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery
• Experience using Adobe Flash and Photoshop
• Experience with mapping using Google maps and other related technologies
• Experience using database servers e.g. MySQL and PostgreSQL
• Experience using open source content management systems e.g. Drupal, Joomla, Wordpress
• Experience in mobile application development using the Android platform
• Working on both Windows and Linux operating system environments

Other Desired Requirements:

• Awareness and knowledge of web accessibility and usability issues
• Proactive and able to work as part of a team
• Good eye for designing web-based user interface
