The Professional Centre Electrical System Tender Notice


The Professional Centre invites the following tenders for the maintenance and repair of the electrical system at the Professional Centre building.
Specifications Required
  • Strengthening of the neutral reception
  • Replacement of common lamp holders 
  • Recommend usage of low power consumption bulbs
  • Meter separation from the Theater if need be 
  • Labour
  • Total Cost
Kindly provide us with the total cost that would be involved as per the above specification above.

N: B: Interested eligible, contractors are invited to tender for this work comprising of electrical and infrastructural works.

Proof of practicing certificate must be included in ones application
 
Only those meeting the above minimum criteria supported by the relevant documents at submission of bid will be considered for further evaluation.
 
  1. Must meet all statutory requirements as per the public procurement and Disposal Act,2005
  2. Must Provide copies of Company Registration, tax compliance certificate , PIN, and VAT Registration Certificates

  7. Any canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification. 
  8. The Professional Centre reserves the right to reject any tender without giving reasons for the rejection and does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender. 
  9. Must provide a certificate from the Kenya power and lighting company that authorizes you as a certified contractor with them as KPLC. 
  10. Provide evidence of work done before.

1. Managing Director, Egerton University Investment Company Limited

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce or Economics and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from a recognized institution.  In addition, the applicant must have at least five (5) years experience in managing a business company or an organization, three (3) of which must have been at a Senior Management level.

Responsibilities: The incumbent will be in charge of coordination and management of all Income Generating enterprises of the University.  
This is a Senior Management position requiring an individual who is dynamic, focused, self-driven, and honest and with capacity to generate and implement sound business plans on behalf of the University and deliver within set targets and timelines.  
He/She shall prepare quarterly and annual reports to the Company Board of Directors of Egerton University Investment Company and/or University Management Board.

Terms and conditions of service are:

The successful applicant will be hired on a five (5) year contract renewable on basis of annual performance appraisal.
 
A consolidated salary of  Kshs.250,000/= per month
 
25% gratuity will be paid at the expiry of the contract.

2. Estates Manager

Applicants must be Kenyan citizens with at least a Bachelors degree in either Land Economics, Architecture, Construction Management or Engineering.  
Possession of a Masters Degree in Facilities management or related field will be an added advantage.  
In addition they must be registered with relevant registration Board of Estates Managers, Architects, Quantity Surveyors or Facility Manager or Engineers.  
They must have a minimum of 10 years work experience, five (5) of them at a senior level in an organization with a large asset portfolio.  
This is a senior position and requires a result oriented person with excellent interpersonal communication skills, high integrity and computer literacy.  
The successful candidate will report to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration & Finance) and will be required to maintain a register of all university property including furniture and general fixtures, coordinate the maintenance and repairs of university buildings, grounds, plant and equipment including the management of service contracts, handle land administration matters including lease preparation, extensions and payment of land taxes and effective supervision of a sizeable work force.

Terms and Conditions of service

Terms and conditions of service are:

Permanent and pensionable terms after successful probation of 6 months.
 
Basic salary of Kshs.69,840 x 2012 – 73,864 x 2507 – 81,385 x 2774 – 92,481 per month.
 
House Allowance Kshs.51,600 per month

3. Senior Electrician II

Applicants must be Kenyan citizens with at least Craft Certificate / Diploma in Electrical Installation from a recognized institution. 
They must have at least three (3) years experience in installation of wiring in new buildings, repair and service of all electrical machines, inspection of distribution boxes for safety purposes and general maintenance of electricity supply in buildings.

Terms and Conditions of Service

The appointment will be for a three (3) year period.
 
Basic salary of Kshs.13,874 x 500 – 16,874 x 600 – 19,874 per month.
 
House Allowance Kshs.15,480 per month.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated capabilities in either or both areas of Human Resources and Social and Community work, focused on case management, life-coaching, strategic employer relations and Job Development.

The CDC will be responsible for counseling clients in different programs. 
They will assist in the development and implementation of a Work Employment Action Plan for the clients using a case management model.

Reporting to the Senior Regional Network Maintenance Manager, Eastern the holder of the position will maintain the BSS network, perform system upgrades and implement proposed solutions to solve BSS related quality issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curative and preventive Maintenance of  GSM  networks, PDH and SDH transmission equipment;
  • Curative and preventive maintenance of related power supply systems in allocated sites;
  • Analyze key performance indicators to identify root cause of network malfunction issues;
  • Propose solutions to address quality problems, and follow up with relevant departments until resolution.
Minimum Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in either Electrical, Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent from a reputable institution;
  • 1 year telecommunications experience in GSM related field;
  • Must be able to work without supervision and meet tight deadlines/schedules;
  • Analytical, problem solving skills;
  • Proactive & self-motivated;
  • 1 year valid Driving License.
