Qualifications, Competencies and Experience
  • Past relevant experience with any SME
  • Applicants with certification from reputed accounting institutions will be given preference.
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks
  • Ability to interact with clients and work through payment issues
  • Must be enthusiastic and results orientated with high energy and drive, and ability to create and follow procedure, and produce timely reports to management.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Need NOT be fully qualified CPA

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Head of Internal Audit.
  • Secretary to Audit Committee.
  • Prepare Audit Committee reports.
  • Planning and coordination of interns/audit activities.

Requirements for Appointment

  • At least three (3) years in the grade of Principal Internal Auditor or in a comparable position in a similar Institution.

Administrative Officer II

Requirements for Appointment

Planning and Budgeting Officer

  • Preparation of institute budget including sector and internal budget. 
  • Carry out planning activities and proposals for construction Projects. 
  • Monitoring and evaluation of planning and budgeting activities. 
  • Monitor performance contracting at all stages.

Requirements for Appointment
  • Served in the grade of Economist II for at least three years or a comparable position. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics. 
  • Computer literacy.
Research Scientist II (Biometrician)

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Assist research scientists in design of experiments, field layouts, social studies, data analysis, interpretation of results and reporting. 
  • Assist scientists in designing research tools for data collection and management 
  • Identify biometrical and statistical needs of the scientists and that of institute and strategize how to address them. 
  • Organize and conduct relevant refresher courses for scientists and technical support staff to effectively integrate biometry in research. 
  • Oversee management of research protocols, databases and applications 
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Requirements for Appointment 
  • Msc degree from recognized university in Biometry /Statistics 
  • Research experience of at least two (2) years with proven quantifiable contributions in relevant field such as publications 
  • Demonstrate knowledge on a range of statistical software and packages such as GENSTAT, SPSS, R, STATA, SAS among others 
  • Demonstrate knowledge on relational databases and applications

Job Details

Major Purpose:
Key function in this role: Assisting in Human Resource and Administrative duties within the Company.

Key Responsibilities & Result Areas
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the HR department
  • Performs ‎issuance of contracts, maintenance of various personnel records and files;‎
  • Coordinates the recruitment of all staff,
  • Drafts correspondence related to personnel matters and brief local and ‎international staff of their rights, entitlements and responsibilities;‎
  • Prepares relevant paperwork dealing with personnel related matters including ‎recruitment, ensuring accuracy and that deadlines are ‎met;‎
  • Acts as focal point for Performance Appraisals, briefing and sharing ‎information on the subject with all staff; provides guidance and training to staff on the  procedures ‎and guidelines;
  • Keeps track of the vacant posts and takes action on vacancy announcement, ‎internally ensuring that the Job Descriptions have been updated and made available at the field level;
  • Process leave requests for staff
  • Maintain and update Personnel filing system including staff personnel Files.  Archiving HR files.

Safaricom - Senior Engineer - RAN Configuration & Support

Senior Engineer - RAN Configuration & Support
 
Ref: TECHNOLOGY_SERCS__AUG _2012
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Configuration & Support, the position holder will be responsible for 
  • Providing long term RAN system configuration and support; 
  • On callout for 24 hours daily; 
  • Providing 2nd line support to RAN system faults escalated from first line maintenance; 
  • Interface with the supplier of the RAN equipment and follow up on escalated problem; 
  • RAN subsystem upgrades and major network configuration changes; 
  • Develop tools for automation and speed up the support processes
The job holder’s key responsibilities will be to:
  • Ensuring RAN systems (GSM, UMTS) and NEs continuously perform within or exceed KPIs;
  • Ensuring RAN systems and operational availability to support customer traffic;
  • Resolution of faults escalated from 1st Line maintenance teams within SLAs;
  • Ensuring all newly integrated RAN equipment follow & adhere to the laid down acceptance criteria;
  • Perform configuration changes on RAN Network elements & S/W upgrades to meet network KPIs;
  • Analyze network KPIs, logs and warnings and initiate corrective measures to resolve complaints and faults.
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills & competencies:
  • 3 years working experience in Telecommunications with at least 2 years’ experience in a GSM (RAN) Environment;
  • Relevant Nokia /Huawei/Ericsson training and experience will be an added advantage;
  • Good understanding of 2G and 3G telecom networks i.e. elements, protocols, services, configuration etc.;
  • Good understanding of Software Upgrades, First Node Implementation, Feature Activations;
  • Experience in IuB over IP and HSDPA offload will be an added advantage;
  • Good working practical knowledge & understanding of RAN;
  • Good working knowledge of UNIX, Linux, Windows, Oracle and SQL based database systems;
  • Good working knowledge of  Microsoft Office tools;
  • Analytical & problem solving skills when handling faults;
  • Must be able to work without supervision & meet tight deadlines/schedules;
  • Presentation skills required occasionally when initiating the use of new procedures & long-term Network fault solutions;
  • Proactive & self-motivated;
  • Good public relations, communication & interpersonal skills when coordinating with contractor /other departments & suppliers;
Note: This position is located Western Region of Kenya and the offices are based in Kisumu-Kiboswa area.
