Projects Manager

 The job function of the Project Manager is to lead the definition, planning, management and delivery of projects in support of the program strategy and goals. 
The individual will lead cross-organization teams, effectively planning, communicating, and driving change through the execution of projects in alignment with the overall program strategy.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Be liaison between clients and employer
  • Develops project team goals, roles and processes (i.e. communication, problem-solving and decision-making) to effectively execute and implement project requirements
  • Manages cross-organization team dynamics, alignment, and utilization.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the project lifecycle, driving results within the context of the business strategy
  • Leads problem solving and decision making to drive project delivery through strong collaboration and influencing skills
  • Monitors progress on complex, cross-organization projects relative to schedules, budgets, and quality. Identifies risk and resolves issues that impact project completion
  • Provide leadership and input to project teams through all phases of facilities setup, systems and infrastructure related to project definition and delivery to drive rapid solutions implementation
  • Communicates plans, status and issues related to project status and execution concisely and broadly across all functions and levels of the organization

  • Required to communicate between sites
  • Flexible to work hours weekly
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years related experience in project management capacities
  • Experience managing large business process
  • Must have sound experience in constructions and business projects
  • Sound references
  • Proven track record of projects managed
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Must be extremely stress tolerant and able to adapt to change rapidly
  • Experience working on large projects (Will be advantageous although not a must)
  • High sense of urgency with the ability to drive results, demonstrated ability to deliver on commitments
  • Demonstrate results in planning, managing, and implementing large projects within time and budget objectives
  • Solid analytical and problem solving abilities, demonstrates solid judgment and decision making skills
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills, ability to manage conflicts across groups
  • Ability to translate strategy into tactical project execution, driving change through leadership, facilitation and communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to develop effective working teams and relationships across multiple functional organizations
  • Strong, direct, and open communication and presentation skills, capable of presenting information to all levels of the organization
Remuneration: Expected salary is 70-90K Gross

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Training of CHW on CHBC
  • Continuous engagement of CHW
  • Conduct Community outreach events targeting PLWHIV
  • Conduct outreaches targeting pregnant women and refer them to health facilities for delivery.
  • Conduct home visit as scheduled
  • Enhance the development of healthy relationship between the program and stakeholders at grassroots levels
  • Document and support to the supervisor  progress reports, and any other information that will enhance achievement of organization goals and objectives.
Qualifications / Experience (Minimum)
  • Diploma in community health, social work, community work, counseling, or its equivalent from a reputable training institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years in community work especially on HIV and AIDS programs
  • Trained on HIV  and AIDS Management, VCT/HTC,
  • Computer literate especially MS Word and MS Excel
  • Ability to speak local languages will be an added advantage .

Jacaranda Health is a social venture that aims to set a new standard for maternity care in East Africa. 
We are combining business and clinical innovations to provide affordable maternity and reproductive health services to low-income urban women. 
We are launching our first clinics in Nairobi this year, and plan to expand to other locations in the region.

Job Summary
 
Jacaranda is seeking a Community Relations Associate to join our growing team. 
This individual will support our Community Relations and Research Manager in specific projects, as well as in general administrative support. 
The Associate will be responsible for gathering external information, developing relationships with external partners, and representing the CRR Manager in select interactions with external stakeholders. 
We are looking for an intelligent, proactive, and flexible individual with experience in project management. 
This person needs to be able to juggle and prioritize multiple responsibilities, handle sensitive situations, and communicate information effectively.
Ideally this person will have experience developing community partnerships, preferably related to health issues.

Responsibilities
  • Working with the CRR Manager to scout for new locations and options for partnerships
  • Establishing wide relations with other partners within our locality
  • Identifying influential people within the community to sensitize on JH services
  • Liaising with the local authority to create good relationships
  • Mobilizing resources for Focus Group Discussions and field surveys
  • Assisting in conducting surveys and focus groups
  • Supervising and ensuring quality data collection during surveys
  • Following up on unpaid accounts through local chiefs
  • Any other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • A minimum of Diploma in social work or community health / development from a recognized institution. A bachelor’s degree would be an advantage
  • At least 2-3 years’ work experience in a role involving community mobilization, partnership development, and/or qualitative research. Experience in a health care setting would be an advantage
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and empathy
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google products
  • Independent, self-starter capable of working well with a team, multi-tasking effectively and managing a variety of responsibilities typical in a start-up environment
  • Able to uphold high ethical and professional standards and the highest level of honesty and confidentiality
  • Dependable, responsible, reliable and attentive to detail
  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with communities in Eastlands and Northern Nairobi
  • Passion for and commitment to Jacaranda Health's mission
