Homa Hills Community Development Organization - Internal Audito and Clinical Officer

 Homa Hills Community Development Organization is an integrated organization located in North Karachuonyo district. 
Its major partners include CRS Kenya, Action Aid and MONSANTO research organization.

It is a large organization entailing different key components including enterprise unit, Aids Relief Programme, Action Aid Integrated programmes, USAID OVC Track 1, The Children behind Programme, among others.

HHCDO strives to empower communities living in Karachuonyo in terms of their civic responsibilities, economic independence, food security, environmental conservation, public health and HIV/AIDS prevention and care and support for a just and equitable society.

Its  overriding role is to build community capacity to facilitate sustainable development to support vulnerable groups.

We seek to fill the following vacancy and invite qualified, dedicated and self motivated applicants

1. Internal Auditor
1 Position

Key accountabilities:
  • Implement internal audit strategies and comply with policies and procedures.
  • Act as team leader during audit engagement, planning, field work, report compilation and follow up reviews.
  • Carry out audit reviews to assess the effectiveness of risk management and the adequacy of internal controls.
  • Document results of audit field work on audit working papers and ensure proper organization / filing of audit working papers.
  • Ensure the Organizations’ policy manuals are strictly adhered to.
  • Prepare reports on audit findings for sharing with the management team and the board
  • Follow up audit recommendations to ensure timely implementation and action to mitigate identified risks.
  • Provide advice on improvements to HHCDO finance systems and procedures where appropriate.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • A minimum of Bachelor of Commerce degree specializing in Finance or accounting from a recognized university
  • Must have CPA (K)/ACCA/CA/CFE qualification or its equivalent
  • Must have worked for at least 3 years in internal audit
2. Clinical Officer (CO) 
1 Position

Key accountabilities:
  • Responsible to the Project Coordinator for quality care and support as the HIV/ART Project’s Clinical Lead.
  • Provide ART and general medical care to HIV/AIDS patients referred to the CCC.
    Participate in educational sessions designed for patient and community members.
  • Provide basic HIV/AIDS counseling,testing,PMTCT, preparation and adherence to antiretroviral drugs.
  • Maintains patients confidentiality at all times to preserve the dignity of patients
  • Ensure compliance with NASCOP guidelines and liaise with GoK medical staff for guidelines and periodic medical reports.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • A minimum of Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognized Institution.
  • Must have worked for at least 2 years as Clinical Officer in a department of a large and reputable organization preferably in an NGO.
  • Must be a member of a relevant professional body
  • Must possess  administrative and coordination skills
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must be effective in communication and report writing skills

Social Media Editor

This is an exciting new position that will blaze a trail for new journalism at Nation Media Group. 
The NMG Social Media Editor will recognise that the new consumer of news and information does not merely want to be served the end product, but would rather participate in producing it.
 
Specifically, s/he will:
  • Track comments about NMG’s journalism on blogs, websites, and social media, for trends, ideas and issues of importance, and to translate these into stories and draw insights to guide editors;
  • Set up and coordinate NMG journalism on social media. This will involve a combination of content drawn from newspapers, websites, and require a promotion of stories that pose questions/debate, teaser for blogs, videos, photos;
  • Drive user engagement including responding to public comments if necessary, in consultation with the Managing Editors and the Editorial Director;
  • Create internal social media awareness within the newsrooms;
  • To lead a team social media moderators in securing and sustaining a credible voice for NMG’s social media accounts. This includes corrections and clarifications to any NMG stories that are in dispute are issued in a timely fashion online.

Programmes Controller

We are seeking to recruit an experienced and self- motivated individual in the capacity of Programmes Controller for Easy FM.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing and directing the station on- air staffing towards the desired goals and targets;
  • Continual review and refreshing of programming output to attract, retain and grow audiences;
  • Monitoring and evaluating the quality of the station and ensuring that programming complies with the laws, regulations and industry codes
  • governing Radio broadcasting;
  • Analysis of research data from internal and external sources to improve programming ratings;
  • Review and planning of programming with presenters;
  • Liaison with the sales teams on product/brand preposition to clients and sponsors;
  • Creating program clocks and ensuring programming elements are in place;
  • Approving and review of playlists and briefing presenters on any promotions to run on air.
Knowledge and Skills
  • University Degree in mass communications or equivalent;
  • 5 years working experience of commercial radio industry with programmes making experience;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated track record;
  • Ability to mentor, develop and provide leadership to a dynamic team of creative talent;
  • Good understanding of the commercial side of the business;
  • The capacity to work effectively under pressure, react quickly, and meet tight deadlines;
  • Knowledge of the Radio market and audience demographics.
