Our Client, an ambitious and rapidly growing Group of Companies in the ICT sector in Kenya with business interests in the region, is seeking to recruit a qualified and assertive Manager, to handle legal affairs of the various business units within the group.

Being a new role, the successful candidate will report to the Group Head of Legal and shall be responsible for compliance, standards and regulations within the business services.

Key Accountabilities
  • Negotiating and drafting of Contracts and Agreements
  • Advising on all legal and regulatory matters including governance issues and preparing legal opinions
  • Handling the constitution of the Board and Stakeholders meetings
  • Ensuring safe custody of collaterals and chattels and other company properties
  • Coordinating and issuance of legal undertakings
  • Managing an effective filing system of records and contracts and other corporate documents
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Bachelors degree in Law and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
  • Must hold a current Law Practicing Certificate
  • Must be proficient in computer use and exposed to computerized accounting systems
  • Experience of a minimum of 2 years as a practicing Advocate
  • Qualified CPS would be a distinct advantage
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Assertive with well developed administrative, planning and coordination abilities

WWF - KCO Grants Coordinator Job in Nairobi Kenya

 WWF- The global conservation organization, Kenya Country Office (KCO), is seeking to recruit:

Grants Coordinator
 
To be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Under the supervision of the Country Director, the Grants Coordinator will manage all grants at Kenya Country Office and the Regional Office. 

He/she is also required to support the Country Director to improve donor relations, identify funding opportunities and compile the donor database, reformat and submit project proposals, and ensure timely financial and technical reporting to donors and WWF Network. 

He/she will also liaise with the regional Office to ensure effective coordination of funding submissions and donor communication with other WWF project Offices.
 
Major duties will include but not limited to: 
  • timely reporting and communication on donor contracts and internal monthly reporting of all WWF KCO programmes and projects ; 
  • building an institutional real-time knowledge of donors and various funding opportunities relevant to the needs of the country office ; 
  • developing funding strategies for the various thematic and strategic areas requiring funding within the country office ; 
  • advise and when necessary support project managers on donor guidelines, policies and procedures and contractual obligations, particularly on reporting, procurement, matching funds, spending rate and visibility requirements to ensure compliance ; 
  • prepare local grant guidelines for the activities with partners and follow request for proposal program announcement requirements ; 
  • provide needed training to local partners, to ensure that their activities are in accordance with regulations and requirements. 
  • Review all subcontracts and agreement;
  • assist Country Director and Conservation Manager in building donor relations and in attending meetings with donors as appropriate and required, and maintaining timely communication with donors in conjunction with Project Managers and appropriate Country Managers ;
The incumbent must possess: 
  • at least a Master’s degree in project management or equivalent; 
  • minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in project management ideally with experience working with government and donors; 
  • previous work experience with international organizations involved in environmental and/or community issues ; 
  • proven ability in preparation and submission of proposals, and in implementation of conservation programmes ; 
  • excellent written and oral communications skills, fluency in English and Kiswahili languages; 
  • good computer knowledge; 
  • strong planning and organizational skills; 
  • proven interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels within WWF and with donors and, as required, with other external stakeholders ; 
  • ability to work within a multicultural environment ;
  • dynamic, responsive disposition ; 
  • open, adaptable, team spirit ; 
  • ability to work under pressure;

They have earned a reputation in the Asia-Pacific region, and across Central Europe, as the fleet manager’s provider-of-choice for purpose-built vehicles and fleets, and are looking to expand operations into Sub-Sahara Africa, from a base in Nairobi.

Role overview:

Responsible for:
  • Collating & coordinating all SSA sales activities, forecasting & reporting
  • Collating, coordinating and administering all SSA marketing activity
  • Overseeing the Nairobi office and managing all admin functions
Principle Accountabilities:
  • Ensure that all SSA performance management & information systems (e.g. sales statistics, stock levels, marketing activity etc) are effective and kept up-to-date on a daily basis
  • Ensure that all marketing plans are implemented effectively & efficiently
  • Ensure the timely submission of management reports and forecasts, as agreed with the MD SSA, to the expected standard
  • Ensure the efficient operation of the Nairobi office
Roles and Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that SSA sales and marketing information is always current and available. This will include (but is not limited to):
  • Sales forecasts (retail & wholesale)
  • Production plans & Stock levels
  • Actual sales (retail & wholesale)
  • Prospect & quotation lists
  • Shipping status on all products
  • Payment status on all products and services
  • Demo programme status
  • Marketing plans and progress in all countries
  • Status on marketing support
  • Prepare & submit sales reports as defined by the MD SSA, both for the manufacturer and the company
  • Work with the MD SSA and RBM’s, in the development and implementation of a long term (3 year) sales & marketing strategy for the region, and an implementation plan for each year
  • Oversee the implementation of the marketing plans
  • Order, maintain & distribute stocks of marketing and point-of-sale material
  • Monitor and ensure that the appropriate department of the company fulfills its role in terms of:
  • SSA staff payroll
  • All Kenya office and SSA regional licencing& compliance issues
  • Payment of local services (rent, phone, travel agency etc)
  • Constantly review resources, systems, processes & procedures, and recommend to the MD SSA any changes that would improve the team’s effectiveness and efficiency
  • Ensure that customer databases in the designated regions are up to date and that the customer prospecting and follow-up systems are operational with proper reporting back systems

Qualifications
  • Higher National Diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of fiveyears’ experiencein a Sales Administration role or any other experience with spreadsheets and finances.
  • Must possess excellent verbaland written English skills
  • Must have an extremely keen eye for detail and quality.  Must possess good IT skills.
  • Must have a ‘hands on’, practical mentality, be self-driven and very motivated
  • Must be able to prepare management reports and recommendations and prepare visual presentations (PowerPoint).
  • Must have an ability to liaise with key people within the oversees Head Office and the Kenya Team
  • Must possess excellent organisational skills, ability to meet deadlines and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have an ability to manage all office functions and ensure smooth operations
  • Must be a Kenyan Citizen
  • Excellent references are essential.
