ICAP of Columbia University - Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Job in Kisumu Kenya

 ICAP of Columbia University is working in partnership with the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation and the Ministry of Medical Services to strengthen HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment services at provincial and district health facilities. 

This program is part of a US Government initiative against HIV in Kenya that receives funding from PEPFAR through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Applications are invited for the following position to be based in Kisumu:

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
 
Overall Job Function:
 
To provide support in the planning and implementation of monitoring and evaluation (ME) activities required for HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services in coordination with the Ministries of Health and ICAP staff in Kenya
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
In coordination with the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation and Research, the Program Director, and the Senior M & E Officer,, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer is responsible for ME activities in particular: 
  • Provide technical support in the design and implementation of ME activities 
  • Systematic collection and reporting of patient and program data. This will include: supervision of data entry, data management including data quality assurance and analysis, dissemination and reporting. 
  • Develop ME tools as required 
  • Provide technical assistance to health care workers at facilities including on-the-job mentoring for health workers, and data dissemination and use for decision making
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, international health, or related discipline 
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the design, implementation and management of health monitoring and evaluation systems, 
  • Strong data management and analysis skills

Position: Real Estate Sales Agent (Ladies)

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Present purchase offers to sellers for consideration.
  • Interview clients to determine what kinds of properties they are seeking
  • Prepare documents such as representation contracts, purchase agreements, closing statements, deeds and leases.
  • Act as an intermediary in negotiations between buyers and sellers, generally representing one or the other.
  • Promote sales of properties through advertisements, open houses, and participation in multiple listing services.
  • Generate lists of properties that are compatible with buyers' needs and financial resources.
  • Display commercial, industrial, agricultural, and residential properties to clients and explain their features.
  • Arrange for title searches to determine whether clients have clear property titles.
  • Answer clients' questions regarding construction work, financing, maintenance, repairs, and appraisals.
  • Inspect condition of premises, and arrange for necessary maintenance or notify owners of maintenance needs.
  • Accompany buyers during visits to and inspections of property, advising them on the suitability and value of the homes they are visiting.
  • Advise sellers on how to make homes more appealing to potential buyers.
  • Arrange meetings between buyers and sellers when details of transactions need to be negotiated.
  • Review property listings, trade journals, and relevant literature, and attend conventions, seminars, and staff and association meetings in order to remain knowledgeable about real estate markets.
  • Develop networks of attorneys, mortgage lenders, and contractors to whom clients may be referred.
  • Visit properties to assess them before showing them to clients.
  • Solicit and compile listings of available rental properties.
  • Compare a property with similar properties that have recently sold in order to determine its competitive market price.
  • Coordinate appointments to show homes to prospective buyers.

Academic Requirements
  • A Diploma in sales and marketing, a degree will be an added advantage.
  • At least two years experience in the real estate industry.
  • A member if a professional body e.g. CIM etc is an added advantage.

Qualification:
  • BA Degree in administration / Insurance / BCOM
  • Certificate of Proficiency
  • 2-3 years work experience in insurance sales industry
  • Experience with direct sales and handling of claims
  • Proficient with computers and comfortable with using office equipment like fax machines, copiers, scanners and multi-line phone systems.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills
  • Good communication skills are a must
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Attend meetings, seminars and programs to learn about new products and services, learn new skills, and receive technical assistance in developing new accounts.
  • Calculate premiums and establish payment method.
  • Call on policy holders to deliver and explain policy, to analyze insurance program and suggest additions or changes, or to change beneficiaries.
  • Confer with clients to obtain and provide information when claims are made on a policy.
  • Contact underwriter and submit forms to obtain binder coverage.
  • Customize insurance programs to suit individual customers, often covering a variety of risks.
  • Develop marketing strategies to compete with other individuals or companies who sell insurance.
  • Ensure that policy requirements are fulfilled, including any necessary medical examinations and the completion of appropriate forms.
  • Explain features, advantages and disadvantages of various policies to promote sale of insurance plans.
  • Install bookkeeping systems and resolve system problems.
  • Interview prospective clients to obtain data about their financial resources and needs, the physical condition of the person or property to be insured, and to discuss any existing coverage.
  • Monitor insurance claims to ensure they are settled equitably for both the client and the insurer.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as maintaining records and handling policy renewals.
  • Plan and oversee incorporation of insurance program into bookkeeping system of company.
  • Seek out new clients and develop clientele by networking to find new customers and generate lists of prospective clients.
  • Select company that offers type of coverage requested by client to underwrite policy.
  • Sell various types of insurance policies to businesses and individuals on behalf of insurance companies, including automobile, fire, life, property, medical and dental insurance or specialized policies such as marine, farm/crop, and medical malpractice.
