Position Title: Sales Representative
 
Duty Station: Nairobi, Kenya 
 
Reporting To: Managing Director
 
Basic Purpose
  • Achieve Sales Targets – in terms of volume and revenue generation
  • Develop Sales Strategy in close liaison with management
  • Ensure growth in market share
Main Responsibilities and Duties
 
Sales and Marketing
  • Ensure the effective sale and promotion of all Company products – which are to include but not limited to internal / external networking cables – fibre optics, copper cabling and “end to end solutions”.
  • To ensure sales targets are achieved – 120 calls per week, 12 external meetings per week. 
  • Minimum of 4 new accounts per month.
  • To ensure the Company’s Products are adequately communicated to the market through efficient and cost effective use of marketing tools available.
  • Minimum Revenue Generation of 4 times monthly gross salary
 Purchase Order Management
  • Ensure orders are communicated to the primary producer / supplier in a timely fashion – no later than 4 hrs after receipt of the purchase order.
  • To ensure that external / 3rd party services are procured in a cost effective and efficient manner, and that the most competitive prices in the market are obtained through effective negotiations with the service suppliers. 
  • To ensure efficient and cost effective delivery of all products to the end user.
Customer Satisfaction
  • Ensure 100% customer satisfaction – effective communication with all customers is the key
Inventory Control
  • To ensure sufficient inventory to meet common customer requirements – require recommending, maintaining and managing the stock profile. Forecasting is paramount
 Credit Management
  • To ensure all outstanding invoices are paid within the agreed time frames.
Accountabilities
  • Sales activities covering East and Central Africa, but initially focusing on the Kenyan market
  • Increasing the Company’s market share
  • Improving contribution and yield management 
  • Outstanding revenue and credit management
  • Improving Inventory Control - forecasting
Education, Skills & Knowledge:
 
The ideal candidate will:
  • Be a University Graduate
  • Have a minimum 2 years experience in a highly competitive sales environment
  • Possess industry knowledge ( IT, Telecoms, Structural cabling )
  • By dynamic individual
  • Have the ability to use own Initiative / have a proactive personality
  • Posses very good Communication skills
  • Have Team Leadership skills
  • Be analytical  with good Computer skills

Our client, Kenya Tourist Board (KTB) wishes to recruit a Director of Marketing.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the purpose of this position is to provide strategic direction and leadership in the management of Kenya Tourist Board’s marketing function and entrench Kenya as the preferred tourist destination both locally and internationally; with a view to optimize the contribution of the tourism sector to the national economy. 

The appointment will be on a 3 year renewable contract based on performance.

Job Profile
  • Provide leadership and direction to the development of KTB’s marketing strategies, mission and vision;
  • Provide strategic direction in the development of the implementation framework for the marketing function;
  • Develop, implement and review marketing policies, strategies and systems to ensure that KTB’s marketing human capital has optimal competencies and capabilities;
  • Oversee the co-relation of KTB’s marketing investments with performance improvements, increased outputs and return on investments;
  • Increase inter departmental I units collaboration and galvanize colleagues towards a common cohesive strategic direction;
  • Ensure the promotion of a positive image of Kenya globally and facilitate the resolution of conflicts within the industry;
  • Ensure full implementation of the Quality Management System within the Marketing department;
  • Enhance stakeholder engagements, participation and collaborations for increased productivity;
  • Prepare and manage the Marketing budget;
  • Ensure timely and efficient implementation of Marketing strategy and Annual Work Plan (AWP) and ensure that departmental performance targets are set and achieved.
  • Inculcate a culture of continuous learning and performance improvements and a focus on achievement of results by enhancing the teams’ capacities and capabilities.
  • Spearhead innovative and creative marketing concepts and tools.
  • Develop a framework for monitoring and evaluating performance of the tourism sector.
Person Profile
  • Masters Degree in - Business Administration, Marketing, Strategic Management or related field
  • Bachelors degree in - Marketing, Strategic Management or related field
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing; CIM, Tourism Management or in a relevant field.
  • Membership to a professional marketing body.
  • At least 10 years marketing experience in a large marketing organization, 6 years of which should be in a senior marketing position.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Team playing skills;
  • Strong leadership and management skills; and
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Based in Mumias and reporting to the Managing Director, the Finance Director will be responsible for leading and developing the company’s finance function in order to maximise the shareholder’s value.

Key responsibilities:
  • Leading business strategy discussions around Mumias’ finance processes (operating reviews, outlook, operating plan) and pro-actively supporting all areas ofthe business;
  • Providing financial leadership, risk management, reviewing financial performance and ensuring action plans are in place to meet business commitments;
  • Working closely with senior management to develop and implement a funding and investment strategy for effective implementation ofthe business growth and diversification program;
  • Generating new investment through dynamic investor relations activities;
  • Liaising with investors and analysts through various communication channels to increase visibility and ensuring relevant investor communications are executed efficiently;
  • Ensuring all internal finance processes, controllership, owning complete balance sheet, filing and reporting requirements are compliant with the required standards;
  • Driving consistent improvements in financial processes and routines and ensuring effective management of costs across the business;
  • Providing strategic advice with regards to business initiatives and projects and assisting in the execution of business strategies;
  • Ensuring timely and accurate reporting on costs/revenue by cost centre and ensuring regular updating of forecasts in the light of changes in costs and revenue. A key part of this involves preparing presentations on the company’s financial position to the Board of Directors; Producing financial statements, reports and analysis to aid in decision making and implementing financial decisions; and
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • An undergraduate degree with professional qualifications in accounting and/or financial management;
  • A Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or relevant Masters Degree will be an added advantage;
  • A minimum of 10 years financial management experience, three to four of which must be at senior management/director level;
  • Experience leading a finance function in a fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) production or manufacturing environment;
  • Strong financial management experience and skills (budgets/forecasts capital projects, imports and exports, stakeholder management);
  • Demonstrable experience generating new investment coupled with strong global investor relations experience and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external investor contacts at a senior level;
  • A proactive self-starter with strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire others and positively influence and make an impact at senior management level;
  • Clear and concise interpersonal communication skills;
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to link financial results to operational performance drivers and provide value add insights to the business;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills with attention to detail;
  • Familiarity with Capital Markets Authority and Nairobi Securities Exchange regulations and guidelines;
  • A member of good standing with the Institute of Chartered Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK)
  • Track record of excellent execution and thought leadership; and
  • Working experience with ERP’s and strong excel skills will be an added advantage.
