Requirements:

Storekeeper
Reporting to the Chief Accountant
A qualified Storekeeper to join its stores department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, storing, issuing and compiling records and reports of supplies and equipment for the restaurant.
Further, the storekeeper will ensure that optimum stock levels are maintained, that all goods, perishable and non-perishable are stored under ideal conditions and that maximum security applies at all times, particularly when receiving or issuing goods.
Requirements:
Diploma in Procurement & Stores Management.
3 Years previous experience in a similar position preferably a 4 star Hotel.
Be able to work with minimal supervision.
Demonstrate initiative and have the capability to work in a demanding environment.
Front Office Supervisor

Background
Biomass energy, especially firewood and charcoal, remain the most dominant form of energy used in Kenya.
Most of the firewood and charcoal is unsustainably harvested from state forest resources. Across the country, most of this wood fuel is burned in inefficient traditional stoves which lead to massive wastage of the wood fuel.
The high demand for fuel wood coupled with the use of inefficient biomass burning technologies put considerable strain on the country’s forest resources and exposes users to several health hazards.
One of the sectors that use large quantities of fuel wood and burn the wood in inefficient cook stoves comprises schools and small businesses such as restaurants.
To enhance energy efficiency in schools and small businesses, a four-year GEF Medium Size project – The Market Transformation for Highly Efficient Biomass Stoves for Institutions and Small and Medium Scale Enterprises for formulated and implemented between 2007 and 2010.
It is within this context that UNDP is seeking a national consultant to capture best practices and lessons learned from the experience of the Market Transformation project.
These will be used by project partners, especially the Project Steering Committee, Ministry of Energy, private sectors and civil society to inform development, promotion and dissemination of biomass energy technologies in design of supportive policies.
This is of crucial importance as the country aims to enhance energy efficiency and access in line Vision 2030 – the development blue print.
Objectives
The overall objective is to provide a text for publication of stories and experiences capturing the transformation of institutions and small business using firewood and charcoal for heating and cooking, and of transformation of the energy policy environment.

Background
The Regional Centre on Small Arms in the Great Lakes Region, the Horn of Africa and Bordering States (RECSA) is an Inter-Governmental organization with a mandate to coordinate the implementation of the Nairobi Protocol on the Prevention, Control and Reduction of Small Arms and Light Weapons in the Great Lakes Region, the Horn of Africa and Bordering States.
It was established in June, 2005 by the 3rd Ministerial Review Conference. There are 13 Member States signatory to the Nairobi Declaration and Nairobi Protocol namely:- Burundi, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda and the United Republic of Tanzania.
The mission of RECSA is to coordinate action in the Member States against Small Arms and Light Weapons proliferation in the Great Lakes Region, the Horn of Africa and Bordering States.
RECSA received funds from Japan of Government through UNDP-Kenya to implement a one year project entitled “Enhancing Human Security in the Great Lakes Region and Horn of Africa by Preventing the Proliferation of Illicit Small Arms through Practical Disarmament”.
Part of the funds will be applied to carry out an end-of-project evaluation. The evaluation will focus on the RECSA II project 2009-2010 which received a six-month extension to end in October 2011.
Objectives
The purpose of the end-of-project evaluation is to provide the donor, UNDP and RECSA as well as stakeholders analysis of the project effectiveness. It will evaluate results achieved against expected goals and objectives, inputs and outputs set forth in the project document.
The evaluation will offer strategic and operational recommendations which will inform future programs on small arms and light weapons to RECSA and its partners.
