Salaries and Remuneration Commission Logo Competition

The Salaries and Remuneration Commission was established by the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 with the mandate to set and regularly review the remuneration and benefits of all State Officers and to advise the national and county governments on the remuneration and benefits of all other public officers.


In carrying out its mandate, the Commission has to take into account the principles of; fiscal sustainability of the public compensation bill, attraction and retention of requisite skills for service delivery, productivity and performance, transparency and fairness and equity.


The Salaries and Remuneration Commission is in the process of designing a Logo that will capture and symbolize the Commission's mandate and core principles.


To do this, it requires the contribution of creative Kenyan designers to assist in coming up with a logo that captures the mandate and core principles of the Commission.


The Logo competition is open to Individuals/ Firms/ Companies in Kenya.


General Guidelines


The following are the guidelines, rules and regulations for the competition:


    The design should be in black and white and in high resolution colour. It should be submitted in ten (10) hard copies on A4 size paper and a soft copy in PDF, JPEG or TiFF in a windows readable CD;
    The logo must be clear and distinctly identifiable for effective application on all Commission materials, website and other relevant platforms;
    The logo should include the name of the Commission;
    The logo should have the sum total of the core principles captured in a few words as a motto to enhance the artistic design;
    The design should be accompanied by a written description of its meaning and features;
    The entrants are required to identify possible colours for the Commission;
    Entrants in the competition should provide their names, postal addresses, email address and daytime telephone numbers;
    The Commission reserves the right to subject the winning logo to necessary modification for its use;
    The Commission reserves the right to register the winning logo as its copyright;
    Any material, graphic software or other items prepared by an entrant in the competition shall belong to and remain the property of the Commission; and
    The judges' decision is final and will not be open to any correspondence or appeal whatsoever.


Reward


The Jury will select the winning logos which will be awarded in order of merit as follows:


1. First position - Kshs. 150,000


2. Second position - Kshs. 50,000


3. Third position - Kshs. 25,000

The Job


Reporting to the Legal Officer, the Estate Officer will be responsible for:-


    Maintaining an inventory of all company properties including land buildings
    Ensuring payment of statutory outgoings on land rates and rents » Sorting out land titles issues
    Ensuring valuation of assets is carried out on regular basis
    Ensuring maintenance of company houses is carried out
    Handling tenants complaints
    Ensuring that vacant houses are let at market rates and as such carry out rental assessments and negotiations of leases
    Ensuring collection of rent and preparation of monthly statements
    Ensuring payments of utilities bills of all properties and sort out issues arising there from
    Reviewing schedules of dilapidations and building maintenance
    Advising on the performance o the properties
    Reviewing provision of services by those contracted to maintain the building installations and equipment


Qualifications:


    Diploma holder in Building Construction, Property Management & Estate Agency, Land Survey, Pantry
    Degree in Land Economics or related filed will be an added advantage.
    Should be a Registered Valuer
    Must have 4-6 years experience in Estate/Property Management


Essential Skills


    Must demonstrate time management skills
    An eye for detail
    Good interpersonal and communication skills
    Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications


2. Web Researcher / Administrator


The Job


Reporting to the Business Application Manager, the Web Researcher will be responsible for:-


    Seeking, collecting and verifying industry date/information from all relevant internet sources.
    Documentation/ recording Information - Entering, Transcribing, recording, storing or maintaining collected information.
    Interpreting the meaning of Information for others - preparing reports in findings, and translating or explaining what information means and how it can be used to all units in the organization.
    Monitoring industry statistics and following trends in trade literature.
    Conduct research on consumer opinions and marketing strategies, collaborating with marketing staff.
    Identifying advertising/ marketing opportunities on the internet and advising the organization.
    Managing New KCC Presence online
    Any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.


Qualifications:


    Bachelor's degree in Information Technology/ Computer Studies or related field from a recognized institution.
    Certified Internet Web professional or equivalent
    3-4 years experience in use of the Internet in undertaking research surveys will be an added advantage.

    Demonstrated understanding and commitment to scholarship.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:


    Advise the Management Board and University Council on financial matters of the University.
    Establish and maintain an effective budgetary planning and control processes.

    Oversee the development, deployment and support on information technology throughout the University with due consideration to all management, student, academic, and administrative needs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:


The Registrar will be responsible for supervision and leadership of several key areas of the institution, including:


    Recruitment and admission of students.
    Coordination of academic programs.
    Development of new academic programs.
    Management of the academic calendar and University examinations.
    Quality assurance and research.
