Principal Officer - Forex Bureau Nairobi

The incumbent will report to the Director and will be based in Nairobi.

The main purpose of this job will be to provide strategic support and management of the forex bureau, maximize profitable growth and shareholder value of the company.

Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing the overall operational, administrative and financial functions of the bureau.
  • Managing the day-to-day trading of the forex bureau and ensure its profitability
  • Prepare, maintain and submit Central Bank of Kenya reports on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Establish the most competitive market rates to sell foreign currencies and maximizing returns
  • Provide daily verification of teller transactions, balance accounts and liaise with the management accountant for preparations of financial reports.
  • Customer relationship management; ensuring customers get good services from the bureau
  • Help encourage and indentify opportunities for maximizing the business revenues
  • Manage the general administration and human resource; general office administration & employee management
Professional and relevant experience
  • A minimum of 2 years as a Principal
  • Excellent track record in managing the operations of a forex bureau
  • Education; CPA or ACCA, University Degree
Personal requirements
  • Must be analytical and must have high level of insight into forex trading
  • Passionate, flexible but firm, have self-drive, team player, tolerant, ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
  • Highly levels of discipline and integrity
  • Good communication skills both oral and written.
  • Be a mature and presentable person. At least 28yrs with a clean career record.
  • Practical experience in making returns with FABIT Accounting system to CBK while observing deadlines.
  • Ability to market the forex bureau.
  • Ability to work independently

Power Utility Engineer

Ref: TECHNICAL-PUE-FEB 2012

Reporting to the Senior Manager-Implementation & Power Support; the holder of the position will be responsible for power connection and dimensioning for BTS sites within Safaricom and KPLC specifications and Safaricom CAPEX Budget.

Key Responsibility
  • Oversee commercial power contractors during installation and commissioning of KPLC power lines;
  • Verification of site power connection costs to ensure conformity to contract and actual scope;
  • Coordinate power dimensioning for existing BTS sites required in optimization and upgrade projects;
  • Ensure timely application for commercial power and approval by KPLC;
  • Acceptance of all completed power works to ensure they satisfy all Safaricom requirements, KPLC’s Technical specifications, and are done in accordance with KPLC code of practice;
  • Database management and administration.
  • Continuous evaluation on the performance of the power contractors.
Minimum Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineer with a bias in Power Systems;
  • A minimum 2 years relevant experience in Electrical Power Installations, Switchgear, and Control systems part of which should be in power utility company;
  • Electrical experience in a Telecommunications environment is an added advantage;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Project management skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and report writing skills.

The organisation seeks to recruit a self driven, organised, experienced and ambitious individual to the position of Human Resources Consultant.

The Position

The position holder will be reporting to the Principle Consultant.

They will be responsible for:
  • Undertaking reviews including client and stakeholders interviews and, consultatively, proposing solutions to client problems;
  • Preparing client briefs defining HR requirements; Consulting with clients on Job Evaluations, Organisational Restructuring, Appraisals, Performance Management and Talent Management.
  • Preparing client reports with regard to HR consulting including ensuring that projects are delivered to client specifications and within the set timelines.
  • Oversee Staff Outsourcing on behalf of clients including contracting, payroll management and HR Administration.
  • Report writing for HR consulting and training projects.
  • Undertaking business development work including lead identification, sales follow ups and deals closure.

  • Identifying ideal candidates to fill client vacancies through a rigorous search, interview and selection process.
  • Coordinating tasks undertaken with part time consultants and HR interns.
The Ideal candidate should:
  • Hold a University Degree in a business related field with an emphasis in HR, a Post graduate diploma in HRM would be desirable
  • Have at least 5 years work experience with General HR best practices, HR Administration and or HR Consultancy and payroll management experience
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and project management skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills;
