Head of Treasury Middle Office Job in Kenya

Our client, a top multinational bank in the Eastern Africa region and an employer of choice in the banking industry seeks to recruit Head of Treasury Middle Office.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and supervising a highly motivated team, the head of treasury middle office will ensure that there is a robust risk control management framework to cover Treasury Risk, Market Risk, Liquidity Risk and Credit Risk and that these are adequately mitigated.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Championing, implementing and managing Middle Office risk control framework;
  • Monitoring local market developments for changes in procedures/ reporting requirements and sharing of risk management best practice;
  • Ensuring control and compliance with MOM standards, audit requirements, policies and procedures;
  • Assisting in developing systems, technology-driven internal user guides for Treasury and managing any change initiatives that impact the Middle Office function;
  • Ensuring effective performance management, development and succession planning, training and monitoring the team of treasury risk systems;
  • Assisting in reducing operational risk in the Treasury Front and Back Office and attending ALCO meetings.
Qualifications & Experience

Candidates should have:
  • A business related university degree (B.Com, Econ etc)
  • A minimum of five years experience in Middle Office /Treasury function with adequate systems development exposure to support Middle Office function;
  • ACI accreditation and CPA (K)/ ACCA qualification; + Practical knowledge of Treasury risk management systems, operational processes, market risk methodologies & tools and Treasury products
  • Good communication and project management skills, with strong personality and ability to work independently without supervision.

  • Coordinate technical service support, planning and supervision of the delivery of diverse service demands from customers as well as the installation of machinery.
  • Ensure that the service teams have the materials, technical capacity and logistical support required to carry out their assigned service jobs within the time and cost estimates,
  • Provide clients with timely and comprehensive updates on the progress of their service jobs.
  • The ideal candidate is likely to hold a university degree in an engineering discipline preferably electronic engineering.

Applicants for this position should hold a university degree in a business related discipline and a postgraduate qualification in purchasing and supplies management.

They should have at least five years experience in both local and overseas purchasing and demonstrate the ability to interpret market prices and trends, communicate & negotiate effectively.

Credit Controller

Reporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with the sales and service departments, the successful candidate will ensure that the company's business with credit customers is carried out in keeping with current best practice and comply with the laid down credit policy, systems and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Citizen of Kenya, aged 28-35 years and preferably holding a university degree;
  • At least 3 years credit control experience, acquired in a trading environment;
  • Hold at least a CPA Part II certificate and a valid driving license
  • Must have the proven ability to plan, follow up effectively and communicate to all concerned;
  • Highly numerate
