CAD - Designer

This position exists in the subsidiary of a Multinational Company which is a market leader in Kenya in the manufacturing and marketing of consumer durables.

CAD - Designer

Requirements:-
  • A Bachelors of Arts - in Design (Product Design/ Creative Designs/ Fine Arts Graphic Art) or Degree in Fashion Design, Multi Media Engineering or equivalent from a reputable and recognized university.
  • HND qualifications in the above and at least 3 years hands on experience will also be considered
  • A creative mind and skilled with designing software especially 3D max, Auto CAD, Illustrator, Photoshop, or CorelDraw.
  • Excellent free hand drawing skills.
  • Love for creativity and taste for fashion
  • Ability to work without supervision.
The person will be exposed to both local and international training and exposure.

Catharina Foundation - Namanga Programmes Director

Catharina Foundation Namanga (CFN) is a local NGO facilitating and implementing education initiatives and community empowerment projects within Namanga Division in Kajiado County.

The Programmes Director will provide overall Leadership for CFN and ensure that the principles and objectives upon which CFN was established are effectively and efficiently achieved.

Location: Namanga - Kenya

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership in CFN’s strategic direction and specifically lead the Resource Mobilization process of CFN, manage the Human Resources, the finance portfolio and all NGO assets.
  • Ensure that CFN operates under the laid down strategic principles and ethics by holding to the highest ethical standards, other laws and all regulations made there under.
  • Provide Leadership in the dissemination of the CFN’s vision, mission and goals through setting up requisite systems and structures to support the strategy implementation process.
  • Ensure proper leadership of the work of CFN management staff and develop work schedules in relation to duties, tasks, methods and systems which effectively and efficiently accomplish the NGO’s objectives.
  • Maintain liaison with other organizations and stakeholders regarding matters of common interest and concern e.g. GoK agencies, development partners/donors, community leadership, etc
  • Ensure that the general management and functioning of CFN operates efficiently and remains within the policy and budgets established by the Board and Development Partners.
  • Responsible for the overall performance of CFN operations and programme activities
Qualifications and Key Skills
  • Should have Masters level qualifications either in Social Sciences, Social Work and Community Development and/or related development studies
  • Demonstrate proven exceptional ability in Resource Mobilization
  • 5 years experience in managing operations in the development sector (NGO/FBO) or related field, preferably community development programmes in education and training.
  • Demonstrable network of contacts and leadership qualities including building effective partnerships and strategic alliances.
  • Demonstrate initiative and creativity; and be a strategic thinker with excellent inter-personal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Have strong management and organizational skills, including comfort in delegating authority and responsibility
  • Demonstrate excellent people management skills in a multi-cultural environment with specific knowledge and understanding of Maasai cultural environment and language

Chief of Party and Agriculture and Market Linkages Specialist, East Africa

We are currently seeking a Chief of Party and multiple Agriculture and Market Linkages Specialists for a large, multiyear agricultural development project in Kenya that will focus specifically on staple crops.

The project’s primary focus will be to increase staple crop productivity and marketability with an emphasis on select orphan crops.

To achieve this objective, technical components could also focus on improved farming techniques and best practices; farm management; increasing market linkages and competitiveness for maize and orphan-crop value chains; trade facilitation and regulatory and policy reform; and other activities that promote increased food security.

Desired areas of specialization include agronomy; producer-organization strengthening; agricultural marketing and trade; business development and financial services for the agriculture sector; storage and warehouse receipt systems; monitoring and evaluation; and communication.

Experience working with smallholder farmers to increase their technical and management skills and create sustainable market linkages is preferred.

Qualifications:

Chief of Party:
  • M.S., M.B.A., or other post-graduate degree in a relevant technical field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant and progressive work experience in Kenya, East Africa, or other regions of Africa with a similar development context.
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible supervisory work experience, preferably on large and complex USAID-funded projects.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Fluency in English required.
Agriculture and Market Linkages Specialists:
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in one or more technical disciplines relevant to the above.
  • University degree in agronomy, agricultural economics, business management or other relevant field (advanced degree is preferred).
  • Experience working with international and/or regional NGOs, donor agencies, Ministries of Agriculture and/or private sector actors (buyers, agribusinesses and financial institutions) along staple value chains is preferred.
  • Excellent written and spoken English is required.
  • Fluency in local dialects (e.g., Kiswahili) is preferred.
  • Experience working in Kenya and/or East Africa is required.
